This position is essential for ensuring the smooth processing of patient accounts and requires a candidate who can effectively handle various administrative and financial tasks. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment where accuracy and customer service are of utmost importance. Responsibilities Accurately processing and managing patient billing and accounts. Verifying insurance coverage and ensuring compliance with billing procedures. Communicating with patients to address inquiries and resolve billing discrepancies. Maintaining patient records and updating account information as needed. Collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure accurate billing and coding practices. Assisting in the preparation of financial reports and statements related to patient accounts. Supporting the collections process by following up on outstanding balances. Ensuring compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations and standards. Providing excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers. Performing additional administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred. Previous experience in patient accounts, medical billing, or a related role is preferred. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Familiarity with healthcare billing software and electronic medical records is a plus. Required Work Hours The Patient Accounts Specialist will work Monday through Friday, during first shift hours. Specific start and end times may vary based on business needs.
