EQUIPMENT & TOOLING MANAGER

We are seeking a Equipment & Tooling Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of the tool room and shop, ensuring equipment, tools, and materials are available, organized, and ready to keep our projects moving forward.

You Are:
EXPERIENCED

: Skilled in reading and understanding shipping/receiving documents; prior forklift experience; ability to perform computer-based tasks using tool tracking software, purchase field supplies through Penta, and process invoice approvals in OnBase.

KNOWLEDGEABLE

: Strong computer skills; working knowledge of construction tools and their repair; basic knowledge of IL trucking rules and regulations.

A COMMUNICATOR

: Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of audiences.

ORGANIZED

: Strong ability to prioritize, follow up, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

FLEXIBLE

: Valid driver's license with a clear driving record; ability to travel to job sites as needed.

What You'll Do:
MANAGE OPERATIONS

: Oversee shipping, receiving, handling, storing, and delivery of equipment, materials, and supplies. Supervise tool room staff; ensure timely fulfillment of field tool requests; oversee tool repairs and perform routine inventory counts for accuracy.

LEAD & DEVELOP

: Schedule, train, and coach tool room employees. Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of accountability and safety.

IMPROVE PROCESSES

: Implement systems to track tool usage, reduce loss/damage, and streamline inventory control. Identify cost-saving opportunities in purchasing and repairs.

ENSURE COMPLIANCE

: Maintain OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards; ensure proper certifications for forklift and equipment use.

SUPPORT FIELD TEAMS

: Communicate with superintendents and foremen to anticipate and fulfill project needs.

PHYSICAL TASKS

: Lift, stock, carry, and move materials; load and unload trucks. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications:

3-5 years of supervisory or warehouse/tool room experience. Familiarity with construction industry logistics. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and people leadership skills.
