$95,000-$125,000+, based on experience and performance Position Summary We are seeking a driven and versatile Customer Account Manager who can successfully balance new business development with the sales growth and retention of existing customer relationships. In this role, you will manage a designated geographic or vertical territory and be responsible for the entire customer lifecycle—from prospecting and closing new accounts to expanding relationships within an established portfolio. The ideal candidate combines the persistence and results-oriented mindset of a "hunter" with the consultative, relationship-focused approach of a "farmer." Key Responsibilities New Business Development — 40% Prospect, cold-call, network, and conduct outbound outreach to generate qualified leads and secure new accounts. Identify and engage prospective customers within the assigned territory. Conduct discovery calls, product demonstrations, and in-person meetings to understand customer needs and recommend appropriate solutions. Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline. Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle, from initial contact and qualification through proposal, negotiation, and close. Consistently meet or exceed new-business sales goals. Account Management and Growth — 60% Serve as the primary point of contact for an established portfolio of active customer accounts. Develop trusted, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders. Maintain regular communication with customers to understand their evolving needs and support continued satisfaction. Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities that increase account revenue and customer lifetime value. Support customer retention by addressing concerns, coordinating solutions, and ensuring a consistently positive experience. Collaborate with internal support, customer success, operations, and product teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Monitor account performance and maintain accurate customer and opportunity records in the company's CRM. Qualifications and Skills Minimum of three years of outside sales or B2B sales experience. Demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales quotas. Ability to balance new-business prospecting with account management and relationship development. Strong prospecting, discovery, negotiation, presentation, and closing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing a field-based territory. Proficiency with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. $95,000-$125,000+, based on experience and performance Position Overview We are seeking a driven, technically knowledgeable Customer Account Manager to expand our presence in the commercial and industrial UPS battery backup market. In this role, you will develop new business while managing and growing relationships and sales with existing customers. You will work with medical organizations, surgery centers, dealers & distributors, hospitals, urgent cares, IT departments, facility managers, electrical contractors, architects, and enterprise organizations to deliver dependable power-protection solutions—including lithium-ion and lead-acid battery backup systems. The ideal candidate combines strong sales and relationship-management skills with the ability to understand customers' electrical requirements and recommend appropriately sized solutions. Key Responsibilities Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for commercial and industrial UPS battery backup systems. Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, qualification, discovery, technical presentations, proposal development, negotiation, and closing. Build and maintain long-term relationships with facility managers, IT directors, electrical contractors, engineers, and other key decision-makers. Manage and expand an established portfolio of customer accounts through consistent communication, cross-selling, and upselling. Evaluate customer requirements, including electrical load, input voltage, runtime expectations, installation environment, and space limitations. Collaborate with internal engineering and technical teams to develop accurate system-sizing recommendations and customized proposals. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure a smooth transition from sale through installation and ongoing customer support. Maintain accurate customer, activity, pipeline, and forecasting information in the company's CRM. Monitor market trends, competitive offerings, pricing, and regional power-reliability needs. Consistently meet or exceed individual sales and revenue goals. Qualifications Minimum of three years of B2B technical sales experience, preferably involving power electronics, electrical equipment, battery systems, or related technologies. Demonstrated success developing new business, managing customer relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales targets. Working knowledge of UPS systems and fundamental electrical concepts, including VA and watt ratings, voltage, load requirements, and battery runtime. Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical audiences. Strong prospecting, presentation, negotiation, and closing skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and territory-management abilities. Proficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
