An Outside Sales Account Manager focuses on retaining or increasing business with a select group of existing client accounts for a company. Develops and maintains face-to-face communication with company clients, promotes sales and services, and works to resolve problems. Often travels to meet clients. Accounts may be for product sales, advertising or marketing services or financial services such as banking.
$40,000 to $70,000 per year, based on relevant experience Panta Rhei Productions is hiring an experienced sign industry professional to manage estimating, client communication, account relationships, and selective outside sales. This is a hybrid position by design. At our current stage, the workload does not justify dividing estimating, account management, and business development into three separate full-time jobs. As the company grows, responsibilities will become more specialized and compensation will grow with the scope of the position. We are not looking for one person to permanently do the work of an entire department. We are looking for someone experienced enough to take ownership of this part of the business now and help shape the department it becomes. What You'll Do Prepare accurate estimates for signage, large-format graphics, displays, branded environments, and custom fabrication Review drawings, measurements, materials, production requirements, installation conditions, and project timelines Communicate with existing clients from initial inquiry through estimate approval Turn incomplete requests into clear, buildable project scopes Maintain client relationships and keep projects moving Coordinate with design, production, fabrication, and installation Conduct occasional site visits and outside sales Develop new relationships and pursue qualified opportunities Help improve our estimating, sales, intake, and client communication systems Some weeks will lean heavily toward estimating existing opportunities. Others may include account development, client meetings, follow-ups, or outside sales. The position requires someone comfortable moving between those responsibilities as the workload changes. Required Experience Professional sign industry estimating experience Working knowledge of sign materials, large-format printing, fabrication, production, and installation Ability to interpret measurements, drawings, photographs, files, and project specifications Strong written and verbal client communication Ability to prepare estimates that are accurate, profitable, and realistic Strong organization, follow-through, and ownership Experience in outside sales, account management, business development, or project management is strongly preferred. This is not an entry-level position. We can teach you how Panta Rhei operates. We cannot teach the entire sign industry from scratch while also asking you to estimate it accurately. About Panta Rhei Panta Rhei does not operate like a conventional sign company. We are a design-led production and fabrication studio working across signage, large-format graphics, custom displays, branded environments, prototypes, and unusual projects that do not always fit neatly into a catalog. Our crew includes creatives, fabricators, musicians, problem-solvers, and assorted productive weirdos. We take the work seriously without taking ourselves too seriously. Humor is part of the culture. So are curiosity, experimentation, and being comfortable around people who may approach the same problem from very different directions. What we do not accept is "good enough" work disguised as efficiency. Design matters. Craftsmanship matters. Details matter. If something leaves our shop, it should reflect the ability and care of the people who made it. We do not micromanage capable adults. You will have room to organize your work, make decisions, ask questions, and improve the process. In return, we expect you to show up prepared, communicate clearly, follow through, and take genuine ownership of your responsibilities. Freedom here comes with accountability. Nobody will stand over your shoulder all day, but nobody should have to chase you around the building with a butterfly net either. About the Opportunity Panta Rhei is preparing for its full public launch, but we already have an active client base and more incoming work than the founders can continue managing alone. The starting salary range is intentionally broad: Candidates meeting the core requirements may begin near $40,000 Candidates bringing substantial estimating, sales, account management, or leadership experience, and/or an established industry network with the demonstrated ability to generate new business, may qualify for an offer up to $70,000 Existing client relationships and a strong local or industry network will be considered valuable qualifications. Any business development must be handled professionally and in compliance with the candidate's existing contractual obligations. The actual offer will be based on directly relevant experience and demonstrated capability, not optimism, interpretive résumé dance, or the number of times "results-driven" appears on the page. As revenue and workload grow, we intend to expand the team, separate responsibilities into more focused roles, and create opportunities for this person to grow into sales or account leadership. Who Will Do Well Here You may be a strong fit if you: Know the sign industry and understand how estimates affect everything downstream Are intelligent, curious, and able to solve problems independently Take initiative without needing constant supervision Communicate clearly and ask useful questions Can balance client service, sales judgment, and production reality Care deeply about quality without requiring everything around you to feel overly serious Are comfortable working directly with founders and a multidisciplinary creative crew Want to help build better systems instead of inheriting layers of corporate sludge Can laugh at yourself, accept feedback, and correct mistakes without turning the room into a hostage negotiation Value thoughtful design, accurate estimating, clean execution, and doing the work correctly You do not need to share everyone's interests, personality, or background. You do need to respect the crew, contribute to the environment, and be someone other people can trust to carry their part of the work.
