We specialize in automation, electrical, networking, and industrial products, helping customers find the right products and solutions quickly and accurately. Our business is built around long-term customer relationships, exceptional service, responsiveness, and becoming a trusted resource our customers can rely on. We are looking for an organized, relationship-focused Account Representative who enjoys getting to know customers, understanding their businesses, and developing accounts over time. About the Role As an Account Representative (AR), you will manage and develop your own book of existing customers and new inbound opportunities. This is not a cold-calling position.
Your focus is relationship sales:
staying connected with customers, understanding what they purchase and how their business operates, identifying opportunities to better support them, and ultimately becoming their preferred industrial distributor. You will maintain a schedule of customer calls and follow-ups while also responding quickly to new, high-interest inbound leads. Some days will require balancing scheduled relationship calls with new opportunities, customer requests, quotes, and follow-up activities, so strong organization and time management are essential. You will work closely with an SDR who helps support your team with inbound activity, quoting, order entry, research, and other sales-related tasks. Success in this role is not about making as many calls as possible. It is about consistently communicating with customers, building trust, learning their needs, following through on commitments, and developing lasting business relationships. Responsibilities Manage and develop an assigned book of customer accounts Build long-term relationships with customers through regular, meaningful communication Maintain a consistent schedule of customer calls and follow-up activities Respond quickly to new inbound hot leads and sales opportunities Learn each customer's business, purchasing habits, applications, challenges, and future needs Identify opportunities to expand relationships into additional products, brands, departments, or locations Serve as a primary sales contact and trusted resource for assigned customers Maintain organized and accurate customer records, notes, opportunities, and next steps within our CRM Prioritize scheduled calls while remaining flexible for new customer opportunities and urgent requests Partner closely with your team's SDR on quotes, orders, product research, and customer follow-up Coordinate with internal sales, operations, and customer service teams to resolve customer needs Consistently follow through on commitments and maintain strong communication with customers Qualifications 1+ year of experience in account management, relationship sales, inside sales, customer service, or a related role preferred Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Highly organized with strong time-management skills Ability to independently manage a book of business and scheduled follow-up activity Comfortable balancing planned customer outreach with new inbound opportunities Strong follow-through and attention to detail Ability to ask questions, listen to customers, and understand their business needs Customer-focused mindset with a genuine interest in developing long-term relationships Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of customer accounts Comfortable learning and using multiple software systems and sales tools CRM or ERP experience preferred NetSuite experience is a plus but not required Industrial, electrical, or automation experience is helpful but not required What We Are Looking For The right person for this role is someone who does not want every customer interaction to feel like a transaction. We want someone who remembers what customers are working on, follows up when they say they will, asks good questions, and looks for ways RSP Supply can make the customer's job easier. Over time, you should know your customers well enough to understand what they buy, what matters to them, and where additional opportunities may exist. The goal is simple:
build relationships strong enough that when the customer needs industrial products, RSP Supply is the first company they call. What We Offer Established customer accounts and inbound sales opportunities No cold calling SDR support for quoting, order entry, research, and inbound activity Training and ongoing support Stable, growing company Team-oriented sales environment Opportunity to develop long-term customer relationships rather than transactional sales Benefits Benefits become available after a 30-day introductory employment period and include: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) withCompany Match Pay:
