This position combines inside sales, rental scheduling, inventory management, equipment preparation and inspection, and general store and yard support. The position requires developing and maintaining a working knowledge of Arrow's rental equipment, products, and materials to answer customer questions, explain basic equipment operation, and assist customers in selecting the appropriate equipment and products for their projects. This is a hands-on position requiring strong communication and organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service, Sales & Rentals Provide exceptional customer service in person and over the phone Assist customers with product and equipment selection, pricing, availability, and general questions Develop a working knowledge of products and rental equipment and how they operate Provide basic equipment demonstrations and answer customer questions regarding proper use and applications, including products and processes such as sealcoating Prepare quotes, sales tickets, rental contracts, and other required paperwork Schedule rentals, process check-ins and check-outs, and maintain accurate rental records Coordinate equipment availability, pickups, deliveries, and returns Work with outside sales and management to meet customer needs Equipment & Inventory Inspect, clean, and prepare rental equipment before and after rentals Identify equipment damage, safety concerns, maintenance needs, and basic operational issues Perform basic equipment checks, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting as trained Develop and maintain a basic mechanical understanding of construction and rental equipment Maintain accurate inventory of rental equipment, parts, tools, accessories, and store products Monitor stock levels and assist with parts ordering when needed Keep the rental yard, shop, warehouse, and sales areas clean, organized, and safe Deliveries & General Support Assist with occasional equipment deliveries and pickups Safely load and unload rental equipment and assist customers as needed Operate forklifts and other equipment after proper training Assist with general store, yard, and equipment maintenance Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or management team Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required Valid DOT Medical Card preferred Mechanical aptitude or experience with construction/rental equipment preferred Strong customer service and communication skills Ability and willingness to learn equipment, products, and construction applications Basic computer skills and ability to learn rental/inventory software Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Forklift experience preferred or willingness to learn Strong commitment to safety and equipment care Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely Frequent bending, lifting, stooping, reaching, crouching, and kneeling Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to work safely around construction equipment, machinery, and vehicles Work Environment This position works in a combination of rental counter, sales, shop, warehouse, yard, and customer service environments.
