Job Description

Do you have a passion for crafting polished marketing creative and telling the story of impactful engineering work? Are you eager to step into a high-trust role at a respected Northern California firm? As PACE Engineering's Marketing Coordinator, you will own day-to-day execution of the firm's marketing efforts: proposals; project information sheets, pamphlets, presentations, and other in-house creative; team and project photography; website, social media, and newsletter; and business development support. You will report directly to the Head of Marketing, who will guide strategy and manage the relationship with our outside marketing firm while empowering you to manage day-to-day work with autonomy.
ARE YOU:
A Polished Designer with a Portfolio? You have a strong design eye and the portfolio to back it up — multi-page layouts, brand-consistent creative, and authentic photography that captures people, projects, and culture. You produce on-brand work and protect a brand standard rather than overhaul it. A Quick Learner and Technically Fluent Communicator? You pick up new subject matter fast, ask good questions, and turn what an engineer tells you into clear, marketing-ready content. You work effectively across engineering, editing, and administrative teams. A Tool-Forward and AI-Curious Producer? You are advanced in Adobe Creative Suite and Canva, comfortable behind a camera (phone or DSLR/mirrorless), and open to using AI tools (Adobe Firefly, ChatGPT, Claude, Canva AI) for design, content, and workflow. If you are driven to bring polished marketing and a modern toolset to a Northern California engineering firm, please read on.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES IN YOUR FIRST YEAR MAY INCLUDE
Within the first 30 days and ongoing: Becomes familiar with PACE's history, services, brand guide, and marketing materials; partners with the Head of Marketing to begin engaging with outside marketing firm. Takes over all social media duties — assumes ownership of the social media calendar, posting cadence, and engagement across LinkedIn and other applicable channels. Begins shadowing on active SOQ and proposal pursuits to learn the production workflow shared between project managers, technical editing, and the outside marketing firm. Within the next 3-6 months and ongoing: Begins producing sections of SOQs and the firm's first project sheets, takes ownership of the newsletter, and begins capturing content (photography, videography, etc.) at culture events and project site visits. Leads concept-level design for in-house creative. Becomes the point of contact with PACE's outside marketing firm — briefing on routine work and reviewing deliverables for brand fidelity. Identifies opportunities to integrate AI tools into design ideation, content drafting, and recurring marketing workflows. Takes ownership of SOQ and proposal production end-to-end for both public-sector pursuits (cities, counties, water districts) and private-sector pursuits, partnering with project managers and technical editing for content, QA/QC, and final sign-off. Within the next 12 months and ongoing: Owns team and project photography, establishes the firm's structured photo library and project sheet library, and begins developing a strategy with the Head of Marketing to update and refresh sections of the website. Owns brand stewardship firm-wide; operates a steady cadence of website content, social media posts, technical articles, and award submissions; and supports the full project-lead pursuit life cycle from go/no-go through shortlist interview support and debriefs.
