Job Description

Part-Time/Seasonal Event & Market Team Member The Spin of It is a local mobile entertainment and specialty concessions company serving DuPage County and the western suburbs. We work farmers markets, French markets, festivals, community events, corporate events, private parties, birthdays and more. We're looking for reliable, outgoing and motivated team members who enjoy working with people and want a job that's a little different every day. This is a hands-on position. Depending on the event, you may be spinning cotton candy, making Dirty Sodas or Lemonade Lab drinks, applying glitter tattoos, working a Glitter & Gem Bar, helping with kids' parties, serving customers at a farmers market, or assisting with one of our other specialty entertainment and concession services.
What You May Be Doing:
Working local farmers markets and French markets (May-October) Spinning and serving cotton candy Working our Cotton Candy Carts at private parties and events Making Dirty Sodas, lemonades and other specialty drinks Applying glitter tattoos Working Glitter & Gem Bars and other sparkle services Interacting with children and guests at birthday parties and private events Taking customer orders and processing payments Setting up, breaking down, cleaning and restocking event equipment Learning multiple services so you can work a variety of events
Requirements:
Must be at least 16 years old Must live in DuPage County Must have a valid driver's license Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive yourself to and from events Must be dependable and arrive on time for scheduled shifts Must be comfortable working independently once trained Friendly, outgoing and comfortable talking with customers, children and parents Able to follow instructions and learn new tasks quickly Comfortable handling money and using a point-of-sale system Able to stand for several hours at a time Comfortable working outdoors during our market and festival season Willing to help with setup, serving, cleaning, restocking and breakdown Must have weekend availability. Most of our work takes place on weekends, but scheduling is very flexible. You choose the hours and shifts that work for you based on available opportunities posted in our scheduling app. There is no required number of shifts—you may work once a month or 10 times a month depending on your availability and the events you choose to pick up No experience with cotton candy, glitter tattoos or our drink services is necessary — we will train the right person
Schedule:
This is a part-time, flexible and seasonal position. There is no guaranteed set weekly schedule. Hours vary depending on markets, parties and events. Our busiest season is approximately May through October, with additional private events, parties and other opportunities throughout the year. Weekend availability is especially valuable but you get to set your availability in our scheduling system. This can be a great fit for a responsible high school or college student who wants a flexible job around school and activities — but we are looking for someone who takes their scheduled shifts seriously and can be counted on once they commit to an event.
Pay:
$17 per hour plus tips

Various locations throughout DuPage County and the western suburbs We provide training for our services, so you do not need previous experience. Reliability, personality, willingness to learn and the ability to work well with customers are much more important to us. Please confirm that you are at least 16 years old, have a valid driver's license, have reliable transportation, and live in DuPage County.
