Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill four (4) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Event Associate for the Student Experience and Engagement Administration at Oregon State University (OSU). Strives to create impactful student experiences that connect OSU students with themselves, each other and themunity. They achieve this through planning and hosting small, medium and large campus events that engage the participants, provide opportunities to develop new friendships and help students find and build theirmunity. The OSUPC Event Associate is responsible for planning, coordinating and executing events. This role assists the OSUPC Events Lead with day-to-day tasks, contributes creative input, and helps deliver small-to large-scale programs that enhance the student experience and fostermunity on campus. The Event Associate plays a key role in event logistics, on-site support, and delivery of high-quality OSUPC programming. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Critical Thinking, Teamwork, and Professionalism.
Position Duties Event Execution and Support:
Complete tasks assigned by the OSUPC Coordinator and Events Leads Assist with event setup, on-site operations, and event teardown. Staff event stations such as check-in, activity areas, or vendor support. Greet attendees and create a weing, inclusive environment. Identify andmunicate event concerns or issues to the OSUPC Leadership Planning and Coordinating Small-Scale Events Plan and implement small-scale events with guidance from the Events Lead. Prepare event timelines, event checklist and lists for decoration and food. Reserve spaces, request equipment and supplies, and coordinate basic logistics. Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to promote assigned events. Manage budget approved for the event Ensure events meet OSUPC standards for accessibility and inclusivity.
Communication:
Meets regularly with OSUPC supervisor to go over feedback and areas for improvement; anticipate and strategize for oveing challenges Responds to emails, messages, team chats and phone calls within 1 business day, professionally representing
OSUPC Administrative and Team Responsibilities:
Work a minimum of 10 hours in office each week, these hours should be during regular business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday). Hours may vary during different stages of the term Attend scheduled meetings and trainings Complete event documentation such as summaries, evaluation, feedback and attendance tracking Maintain andanize event materials and inventory Collaborate with other student staff and OSUPC partners to support programming Follow all OSUPC policies, procedures and planning processes Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Full Employment Eligibility Requirements can be found : hr.oregonstate.edu/student-employment-manual/500-employment-eligibility-requirements Must be academically enrolled in a high school,munity college, or university and pursuing a program or course of study Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term

  • International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications Demonstrated effective verbal and writtenmunication skills Demonstrated ability to work with others in a team environment Demonstrated ability to effectively problem solve issues that occur Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and follow through on task assignments Willingness to work evenings and weekends, based on event schedules Able to remain professional and calm when working with difficult individuals and situations Has stronganizational skills Is adaptable to a changing environment Meets OSU student employment GPA and enrollment standards Preferred (Special) Qualifications Demonstrated experience planning and executing events Familiarity with Microsoft Suite, Teams, Canva, Point, Box, and/or any project management tools.
