Job Description

M UST RESIDE IN THE SOUTHEAST VALLEY THE OPPORTUNITY
We're not looking for someone to "check in" on referral partners once a week. We need a territory-owning, relationship-building, results-driven Business Development Manager who is out in the field every single day — meeting discharge planners, social workers, senior living directors, and community leaders who trust you to send their patients and families to the right care provider. That provider is FirstLight. Your job is to make sure they know it. But this role is more than sales. You'll sit across from families navigating one of the hardest seasons of their lives — and you'll be the person who helps them feel safe, heard, and guided toward the right decision. We need heart AND hustle . Not one or the other. No ceiling. No cap. Sky is the limit — for the right person. Base salary $55,000
  • 70,000 + uncapped commission. Strong performers earn $80,000
  • 100,000+ in their first year.
No cap. No ceiling.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Territory Management
  • Own a defined geographic territory across the Southeast Valley (Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Ahwatukee, Queen Creek, San Tan Valley)
  • Map, prioritize, and systematically work your referral source universe
  • Build a territory plan with weekly and monthly outreach targets — and execute it relentlessly Daily Referral Development
  • Conduct 8-12 in-person visits per day to referral sources: hospitals, SNFs, rehab centers, ALFs, physician offices, hospice agencies, and community organizations
  • Build relationships that generate consistent, quality referrals — not one-and-done contacts
  • Follow up with precision — no lead left cold, no relationship left unworked Client-Facing Consultations
  • Meet directly with prospective clients and their families — in their homes, in facilities, wherever they are
  • Conduct warm, compassionate consultations that help families understand their care options and feel confident saying yes to FirstLight
  • Be the face they remember — the person who listened when they were scared, overwhelmed, or unsure
  • Bridge the gap between referral and signed agreement with genuine human connection Community Outreach and Events
  • Plan and execute lunch-and-learns, health fairs, educational events, and networking appearances across your territory
  • Represent FirstLight at community events with professionalism and passion
  • Partner with leadership to build outreach campaigns that expand brand awareness Pipeline and CRM Management
  • Log every visit, call, and follow-up in the CRM — same day, every day
  • Use data to spot gaps, double down on what's working, and sharpen your approach
  • Report weekly on pipeline activity, referral trends, and territory progress
WHO YOU ARE
  • 2-4 years of outside sales or business development experience — home care, hospice, healthcare, or senior living strongly preferred
  • A daily field presence is your natural operating mode — you're not a desk person
  • You've consistently met or exceeded sales targets and you can prove it
  • You're the kind of person referral partners call back — because you're real, you follow through, and you actually care what happens to the client after the referral
  • Families trust you immediately. That's not something you learned — it's who you are
  • You can read a room — know when to sit quietly and listen, and when to confidently ask for the next step
  • You're self-directed and accountable — you don't need someone to tell you to get back out there
  • You're the rare combination: heart and hustle
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
