Position overview
GEN-TECH
is seeking a Regional Service Manager to lead service operations and support business performance across our regional locations. This position is based primarily in Glendale, Arizona, and is responsible for oversight of the Glendale, Tucson, and Las Vegas operations. The successful candidate will provide leadership across service, rentals, parts, projects, and administrative functions while driving safety, customer satisfaction, operational consistency, and profitable growth. Key Responsibilities Leadership and People Development Lead, coach, and develop regional service, rental, parts, project, and administrative teams across all assigned locations. Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, address performance concerns, and build employee development and succession plans. Forecast regional labor and leadership needs and support recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce planning. Promote accountability, collaboration, customer focus, ethical conduct, and continuous learning. Regional Strategy and Business Growth Develop and execute annual and multi-year regional plans aligned with company strategy. Support revenue growth through service excellence, customer retention, strong contract execution, and timely operational response. Provide market and operational insight to support business development and sales initiatives. Provide operational, technical, and resource input for proposals, tenders, contracts, and customer commitments. Customer and Market Leadership Build strong relationships with commercial, industrial, institutional, municipal, utility, contractor, engineering, and other key accounts. Serve as the senior regional escalation point for customer concerns, service failures, commercial disputes, and recovery plans. Ensure customer commitments are documented, achievable, properly authorized, and delivered. Monitor customer satisfaction, retention, market activity, and competitor activity. Operational Excellence and Service Delivery Oversee regional service delivery, including planned maintenance, corrective repairs, troubleshooting, commissioning, warranty coordination, emergency response, and technical support. Monitor scheduling, response times, backlog, first-time fix rate, technician utilization, billable efficiency, rework, contract performance, and customer communication. Ensure consistent use of company ERP, CRM, field-service, safety, and document-control systems across all locations. Oversee subcontractors and vendors for quality, safety, schedule, documentation, and commercial compliance. Coordinate effectively with Sales, Engineering, Projects, Service, Rentals, Parts, Finance, Human Resources, and other regions. Financial and Commercial Accountability Own regional budgets, forecasts, revenue, gross margin, operating income, cash collection, working capital, and controllable expenses. Review monthly financial and operational results, explain variances, and implement timely corrective actions. Maintain pricing discipline, quote quality, contract scope control, change-order recovery, purchasing controls, and delegated authority. Assess capital, fleet, tooling, inventory, facilities, and staffing needs using sound return-on-investment analysis. Safety Quality and Compliance Lead a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, environmental obligations, transportation rules, customer requirements, company policies, and applicable industry standards. Ensure job hazard analyses, training, qualifications, inspections, incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions are completed. Monitor workmanship, commissioning quality, documentation, warranty exposure, and repeat failures, and drive root-cause correction. Protect company, customer, employee, and third-party information and assets. Continuous Improvement and Executive Support Implement technologies, tools, standard work, dashboards, and process improvements that strengthen safety, quality, efficiency, and customer experience. Provide accurate regional reporting, forecasts, risk assessments, and recommendations to executive leadership. Participate in acquisitions, integrations, branch expansions, facility planning, and other strategic initiatives as assigned. Perform other reasonable duties consistent with the position and business requirements. Qualifications and Experience Progressive leadership experience in field service, power generation, heavy equipment, industrial services, electrical or mechanical services, or a related technical environment. Demonstrated experience leading multi-location teams and managing service operations, customers, budgets, and business performance. Strong financial understanding, including revenue, gross margin, operating income, forecasting, working capital, and expense control. Proven ability to improve service delivery, customer retention, safety performance, team capability, and operational discipline. Strong communication, decision-making, problem-solving, and relationship-management skills. Proficiency with ERP, CRM, field-service, reporting, and standard business systems; ability to become fully proficient in company systems within three months. Valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable under company policy. Ability to travel regularly among regional locations and customer sites, including Glendale, Tucson, and Las Vegas. Performance Measures Performance may be evaluated using a balanced set of annual measures, including: Safety performance and corrective-action closure Revenue, gross margin, operating income or EBITDA, and cash collection Service response time, backlog, utilization, first-time fix rate, rework, and contract renewal Rental utilization and asset performance Customer retention and satisfaction Employee engagement, turnover, development, and succession readiness ERP and CRM discipline, forecast accuracy, documentation quality, and policy compliance Work Location and Travel This role is based in Glendale, Arizona. The Regional Service Manager is responsible for regional operations across all assigned
