Job Description
Director of Sales - Marriott Hotel (Two Open Positions)
Salary:
$70,000-$85,000 per year, based on experience We are seeking an experienced and motivated Director of Sales to lead sales efforts for our Marriott hotel. This position is responsible for developing and executing sales strategies that drive occupancy, revenue, and profitability while building strong relationships with corporate, group, and local market clients. The ideal candidate is a proactive sales professional with hospitality experience, strong leadership and communication skills, and a proven ability to generate new business and develop lasting client relationships. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve hotel revenue, occupancy, and profitability goals. Proactively generate new business through prospecting, cold calling, networking, client visits, and site tours. Manage and grow corporate, group, negotiated-rate, and other key accounts. Respond promptly to sales leads and prepare proposals, contracts, and follow-up communications. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients to generate repeat and referral business. Monitor market conditions, competitor activity, hotel rates, and sales performance to identify revenue opportunities. Work closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management team on pricing, rate strategy, forecasting, and revenue opportunities. Manage group business, including room blocks, rooming lists, cut-off dates, and coordination with hotel operations. Participate in revenue meetings and provide regular sales activity and performance reporting. Partner with Front Office and other hotel departments to ensure excellent guest and client experiences. Represent the hotel professionally within the local business community and Marriott marketplace. Qualifications 3-5 years of hospitality sales experience preferred , with hotel sales experience strongly preferred. Previous sales leadership or Director of Sales experience is a plus. Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, Hospitality, or a related field preferred. Strong prospecting, negotiation, account management, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to meet or exceed sales and revenue goals. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity. Valid California driver's license. Must be available to work on-site ; this is not a remote position.Benefits include:
