We are looking for a transportation professional with a strong background in carrier sales, carrier procurement, freight brokerage, and capacity development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic carrier relationships, securing capacity for customer freight, negotiating rates, improving operational performance, and helping grow our brokerage division. This individual will work closely with company leadership and play a key role in the continued expansion of Rust Logistics. ResponsibilitiesCarrier Procurement & Capacity Development Build and maintain a nationwide carrier network Develop long-term carrier relationships Source capacity for truckload and specialized freight Negotiate carrier rates and service agreements Identify new carrier partners in strategic markets Maintain carrier qualification and compliance standards Freight Brokerage Operations Secure capacity for customer shipments Manage load coverage activities Support existing customer accounts Assist with pricing and market analysis Monitor freight markets and capacity trends Resolve service issues quickly and professionally Business Growth Support brokerage revenue growth initiatives Identify new opportunities to improve profitability Assist in expanding company transportation services Develop carrier sales strategies and best practices Support long-term transportation growth objectives Customer & Carrier Relations Build strong relationships with carriers and customers Maintain a high level of service and communication Protect existing business relationships Improve carrier engagement and retention Required Qualifications 5+ years of freight brokerage experience 5+ years of carrier sales or carrier procurement experience Experience sourcing truckload capacity throughout North America Strong understanding of freight markets and trucking operations Proven success negotiating rates with carriers Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Preferred Qualifications Existing carrier relationships Experience growing brokerage operations DAT experience Truckstop experience Transportation Management System (TMS) experience Environmental transportation experience Heavy haul, project freight, or specialized transportation knowledge Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred Who Will Excel in This Role The ideal candidate: Thinks like an owner Understands margins and profitability Builds relationships naturally Solves problems independently Thrives in a fast-paced environment Wants to help build and grow a transportation company Benefits Competitive Compensation Performance Bonuses Health Insurance 401(k) with Company Match Paid Time Off Career Advancement Opportunities Family-Owned Company Since 1976 About Rust Logistics Rust Logistics is a growing transportation company operating throughout North America with a strong reputation for safety, reliability, and customer service.
