The Director, Government Sales is responsible for developing and executing factory-direct sales activities for PC-12 and PC-24 aircraft within government and special mission markets. The role develops new market opportunities, builds strategic relationships with government agencies and industry partners, and manages complex aircraft sales from initial business development through contract execution and closing to achieve established aircraft sales and revenue objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Development and execution of factory-direct PC-12 and PC-24 sales activities within federal, state, and other government and special mission markets Identification and development of new government and special mission aircraft sales opportunities Management of complex aircraft sales from initial business development through proposal, negotiation, contract execution, and closing Development and maintenance of strategic relationships with government agencies, professional associations, industry partners, and specialized aircraft equipment vendors Application of government appropriations, procurement, acquisition, and contracting requirements to sales opportunities and acquisition planning Development of annual sales forecasts and reporting on sales performance, pipeline activity, market opportunities, and significant commercial risks Coordination with global and US-based teams on aircraft configuration, special mission requirements, proposals, customer commitments, and delivery planning Coordination of sales commitments with engineering capacity, supplier schedules, production requirements, certification activities, and other cross-functional dependencies Monitoring of government, special mission, competitive, and industry developments to identify emerging market and sales opportunities Representation of Pilatus Aircraft USA at customer meetings, aircraft demonstrations, government and industry events, trade shows, and other sales activities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Aviation, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience; MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred Minimum of 10 years of aviation industry experience, including significant experience in technical sales, aircraft sales, government sales, aviation business development, or related functions Demonstrated experience developing, negotiating, and closing high-value aircraft or comparable aviation sales opportunities through proposal development, contract execution, and closing Substantial knowledge of federal appropriations, procurement, and acquisition processes; familiarity with FAR/DFARS and government contracting practices Knowledge of aircraft systems, airframe modification, and special mission aircraft applications, including technical and operational considerations affecting customer requirements and acquisition decisions Experience managing sales pipelines, developing forecasts, evaluating commercial risks and opportunities, and coordinating cross-functional resources and external partners Experience with airborne law enforcement, special operations, intelligence operations, aircraft maintenance, or related environments preferred; military and/or law enforcement experience preferred FAA Pilot Certificate required; proficiency with standard business software and systems used for sales, reporting, analysis, and customer relationship management Strong business development, negotiation, relationship management, presentation, written and verbal communication skills Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required; ability to meet applicable U.S. Person requirements under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) What We Offer 11 paid holidays a year, plus 15 days of paid vacation time, and 6 days of paid sick/personal time to start with an increase to 20 days of paid vacation time after 5 years with Pilatus 90% of medical, dental, and vision premiums paid for single coverage and 80% for family coverage, averaging $9,600 annually Monthly health savings account contributions totaling $2,250 for single coverage and $3,000 for family coverage annually 401(k) retirement plan matching up to 6% Life and long-term disability insurance premiums paid in full Tuition assistance available annually after the first year The hiring range is $150,000 - $180,000 per year. This range represents Pilatus Aircraft USA Ltd.'s estimate of the compensation reasonably expected for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including relevant skills and experience, education, job location, internal equity, market data, and business considerations. The hiring range may be modified in the future based on business or market conditions. Any bonus, incentive compensation, benefits, or other forms of compensation are subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans, programs, and policies and may be modified in accordance with applicable law.
