Location:
East Hartford, CT (Onsite)
Compensation:
$130K-$150
K Travel:
~20-30% (mostly in the first year) Position Overview The Director of Business Development & Marketing leads organizational growth by driving strategy, overseeing business development and marketing initiatives, and managing a high‑performing team. This role focuses on expanding partnerships, strengthening market presence, and generating revenue across advanced manufacturing, technology, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Define and execute integrated business development and marketing strategies Set goals, KPIs, forecasts, and performance expectations Lead, coach, and develop business development, sales, marketing, and communications staff Build a collaborative, accountable team culture Support recruitment and onboarding of team members Influence cross‑functional teams and organizational stakeholders
Business Development:
Identify and pursue new partnerships, clients, and funding opportunities Build and manage a pipeline across the manufacturing and technology ecosystem Maintain long‑term relationships with regional and national partners Use CRM tools (Salesforce preferred) for forecasting and pipeline management Represent the organization at industry events and conferences Develop strategies to expand revenue‑generating initiatives Marketing & Communications Lead multi‑state technical marketing campaigns and case study development Oversee digital marketing (SEO, automation, digital ads) and communication channels Direct content strategy, social media presence, and crisis communication workflows Manage campaign execution, team responsibilities, and project timelines Approve marketing materials and ensure alignment with strategic goals
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, technology, or related field 7-12 years of business development, marketing, or sales experience Proven success working with manufacturers or private industry Strong leadership, coaching, and cross‑functional influence Executive presence and advanced writing/presentation skills Experience building partnerships and driving measurable outcomes Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred) Must meet ITAR citizenship requirements Preferred Experience with HTML, web design, marketing automation, and digital advertising Background working with military, defense, or government‑funded programs Established relationships with manufacturers in the Northeast Apply Today for Immediate Consideration!
