Job Description
We are looking for a Junior Sales & Business Development Manager focused specifically on developing new Foodservice and Industrial customers. This is not an inside-sales position and it is not a position where you simply manage an existing portfolio of customers. We are looking for someone who enjoys developing new business, identifying prospects, picking up the phone, visiting customers, presenting products, following up, and ultimately turning opportunities into long-term accounts. The right candidate does NOT need to bring an existing portfolio or book of business . However, the candidate should have previous sales experience within the food industry. You may have sold food products, ingredients, beverages, foodservice products, restaurant supplies, bakery products, specialty foods, or similar products. We can teach you the honey business. Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect new Foodservice and Industrial honey customers.
- Build a pipeline of potential customers throughout Florida and other assigned territories.
- Conduct outbound prospecting by phone, email, LinkedIn, trade shows, referrals, and in-person visits.
- Research food manufacturers that use honey or natural sweeteners in their products.
- Visit prospective and existing customers throughout Florida and surrounding markets.
- Drive regularly to customer meetings and sales appointments.
- Prepare and present pricing, product samples, specifications, and proposals.
- Follow opportunities from initial contact through sample approval, quotation, negotiation, and first purchase order.
- Maintain organized follow-up on prospects and sales opportunities.
- Work closely with our Plant Director and management team on customer requirements, pricing, production capabilities, samples, and product development.
- Learn our honey products, packaging capabilities, certifications, origins, blends, and industrial applications.
- Attend food industry trade shows and customer events.
- Travel by air when necessary to attend national food shows and visit customers.
- Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, plant visits, and industry events.
- Develop long-term relationships with purchasing managers, buyers, food scientists, R&D departments, operations teams, distributors, chefs, and business owners.
- Monitor competitors, market opportunities, and customer needs.
- Meet established sales activity and revenue goals. What We Are Looking For
- Previous sales experience in the food, beverage, foodservice, food distribution, food manufacturing, or food ingredient industry .
- An existing customer portfolio is NOT required .
- Honey experience is NOT required .
- Industrial ingredient sales experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Strong desire to develop new business.
- Comfortable making cold calls and approaching new customers.
- Comfortable visiting customers in person.
- Self-motivated and persistent with follow-up.
- Professional communication and presentation skills.
- Comfortable working directly with company ownership, plant management, production, and quality teams.
- Ability to learn technical product information and explain it clearly to customers.
- Organized and capable of managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel by car.
- Willingness and ability to travel by air for trade shows and customer meetings.
- Must be able to work primarily from our Belleview, Florida facility when not traveling.
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $55,000.00 per yearBenefits:
