General Manager Position Summary The Sales Manager is responsible for leading, managing, and growing all sales and revenue-producing activities at Athletica Health & Fitness
•Coral Springs. This is a hands-on leadership position. The Sales Manager is not only responsible for achieving personal and club sales goals but also for ensuring the entire team is properly trained, coached, followed up with, and held accountable for sales performance. The goal of this position is to create a strong sales culture throughout the club and identify every possible opportunity to increase revenue, improve retention, strengthen community awareness, and grow the Athletica brand. The Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager, Operations Manager, Personal Training Director, front desk team, and other department leaders to maximize revenue across the entire facility. Membership Sales & Revenue The Sales Manager will have primary responsibility for all membership sales at the Coral Springs location.
Responsibilities include:
Meet and exceed established monthly, weekly, and daily membership sales goals . Take ownership of new membership production and overall club sales performance. Conduct tours, present membership options, overcome objections, and close memberships. Ensure every guest receives a professional, welcoming, and sales-focused experience. Follow up consistently with prospects who do not purchase during their initial visit. Develop strategies to improve closing percentages and overall membership revenue. Review sales performance daily and immediately address areas where the club is falling behind goal. Identify new sales opportunities instead of relying only on walk-in traffic and existing leads. Maintain strong knowledge of memberships, promotions, pricing, amenities, programs, and services. Lead Management & GymSales The Sales Manager is 100% responsible for the proper management and execution of GymSales and the club's sales pipeline.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor GymSales daily. Ensure new leads are contacted quickly. Personally contact and follow up with leads when necessary. Maintain accurate notes, appointments, lead statuses, and follow-up activities. Ensure no qualified lead is being ignored or left without proper follow-up. Review the team's calls, texts, emails, appointments, tours, and conversions. Hold sales staff accountable for completing assigned follow-ups and sales activities. Track lead sources and determine which channels are producing the strongest results. Re-engage old leads and missed opportunities. Create a consistent follow-up process that moves prospects from inquiry to appointment, tour, and ultimately membership. Sales Team Leadership & Coaching The Sales Manager is expected to be the sales leader and expert within the club .
This includes:
Lead by example and actively participate in selling every day. Establish clear expectations and goals for the sales team. Monitor individual sales performance. Coach employees who are struggling with prospecting, tours, presentations, objections, follow-up, or closing. Role-play sales scenarios and provide ongoing training. Recognize strong performers while addressing underperformance immediately. Take initiative when a sales process is not working rather than waiting for management to intervene. Help develop every employee who participates in the sales process into a stronger salesperson. Maintain a positive, competitive, energetic, and results-driven sales environment. Personal Training Partnership The Sales Manager will work closely with the Personal Training Director to maximize both membership and personal training opportunities.
Responsibilities include:
Create a strong handoff between new membership sales and personal training. Identify members who may benefit from personal training services. Work with the PT Director on promotions, lead generation, events, and sales opportunities. Ensure the membership and PT departments are working together rather than operating separately. Help increase overall PT penetration and revenue through proper introductions and referrals. Collaborate on strategies that maximize the lifetime value of each member. The objective is to create a complete sales process where opportunities are maximized across membership, personal training, and additional club services. Additional Club Revenue The Sales Manager is responsible for looking beyond membership dues and helping increase revenue throughout the club. This includes monitoring and developing opportunities involving: Guest fees and guest passes Paid day passes Membership upgrades Add-on services Retail and merchandise Juice bar / beverage / nutrition area Personal training referrals Special programs and events Corporate partnerships Local business partnerships Sponsorship opportunities Other untapped revenue opportunities within the facility The Sales Manager should continuously ask: Where else can we generate revenue, and what opportunities are we currently missing? Marketing, Outreach & Community Development This position requires proactive outreach outside the four walls of the gym.
Responsibilities include:
Develop relationships with local businesses and organizations. Conduct community outreach to generate new leads and memberships. Visit businesses and introduce Athletica's membership and corporate opportunities. Participate in community events, networking opportunities, health fairs, and local promotions. Help develop corporate membership partnerships. Coordinate referral opportunities with neighboring businesses. Work with management on marketing campaigns and club promotions. Help promote events and initiatives through appropriate digital and community channels. Generate leads through grassroots marketing rather than depending solely on paid advertising or walk-in traffic. Find creative ways to bring new people into the club. Retention & Member Experience Sales does not end when a membership is sold. The Sales Manager will also play an active role in member retention and overall membership health.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor membership retention and cancellation trends. Identify members at risk of cancelling whenever possible. Follow up with members regarding concerns or negative experiences. Work with management to resolve issues that may affect retention. Develop strategies to improve member engagement and longevity. Review cancellation reasons and identify recurring patterns. Support member reactivation and win-back campaigns. Maintain relationships with members after the initial sale. Collections & Back-End Membership Management The Sales Manager will share responsibility for the financial health of the membership base, including collections and delinquent accounts.
Responsibilities include:
Monitor past-due membership accounts. Follow up on declined payments and outstanding balances. Assist with collection efforts and member communication. Track collection performance and outstanding balances. Ensure proper documentation of collection attempts. Work with management to reduce avoidable membership revenue loss. Identify recurring billing or membership issues that may be negatively affecting revenue. Maintain professionalism and excellent member service throughout the collection process. Reporting & Accountability The Sales Manager must understand the numbers behind the business and be prepared to communicate performance to management.
Key metrics may include:
New memberships sold Membership revenue Leads generated Lead-to-appointment conversion Appointment show rate Tour-to-sale closing percentage Follow-up activity Personal training referrals Guest/day-pass revenue Additional club revenue Juice bar/retail revenue Collections Cancellations Retention percentage Member reactivations Corporate/community leads and partnerships The Sales Manager will be given established goals and is expected to know where the club stands against those goals at all times and develop an action plan when performance is below target. The Sales Manager is expected to identify opportunities, solve problems, coach the team, create activity, and take ownership of results. Definition of Success Success in this role means that Athletica Coral Springs has a strong and accountable sales operation where: Leads are contacted. Appointments are booked. Tours are converted. Membership goals are achieved. The sales team is coached. PT opportunities are maximized. Additional revenue is generated. Collections are actively managed. Members are retained. Community relationships are growing. And no legitimate sales opportunity is left untouched.
