Job Summary For more than 50 years, BEST Life and Health Insurance Company has been one of the nation's leading insurance carriers specializing in ancillary employee benefit plans. Headquartered in Meridian Idaho and with offices in Southern California and Texas, we are currently seeking for a National Sales Director to lead and scale our distribution strategy across the United States. This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for expanding agency partnerships, driving revenue growth, and building a modern, multi-channel sales organization. This role is ideal for a proven sales leader in the insurance space who thrives on building teams, opening new markets, and driving measurable growth.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a comprehensive national sales plan focused on agency, broker, and partner distribution. Expand relationships with General Agencies, brokers, and key partners while identifying and launching new distribution channels. Own top-line growth, consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and profitability goals. Build, coach, and lead a high-performing sales organization, including regional leaders and account executives. Position BEST Life competitively in dental and health markets through strategic partnerships and effective go-to-market execution. Utilize analytics, CRM tools, and digital distribution strategies to improve performance and scale efficiently. Partner with underwriting, product, marketing, and executive leadership to align sales strategies with company objectives.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Significant expansion of national agency and broker relationships within the first 12 months Measurable year-over-year sales growth across key product lines Development of new, scalable distribution channels (including digital and partnership-based models) A high-performing, accountable, and growth-oriented sales team
Education and Experience:
10+ years of proven sales leadership experience in the life/health insurance industry Demonstrated success recruiting, developing, and leading high-performing sales teams. Existing network of Dental and/or healthcare executive, HR leaders, or workforce development decision-makers across provider organizations. Experience working with General Agencies, carriers, and broker networks; established industry relationships is required. Ability to develop and execute long-term growth strategies aligned with company goals. Comfortable leveraging new sales channels, digital marketing, and technology-enabled distribution models. Strong analytical skills with the ability to use metrics and insights to drive decisions. Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders. Bachelor's degree in Business preferred (or equivalent professional experience).
