Job Description

Seeking an experienced Gallery Sales Manager to lead our Provincetown location from April through October. This is an active sales and leadership position for someone who knows how to engage customers, build relationships, close sales, and manage a small retail team. We are looking for a confident, dependable professional—not someone who simply watches the gallery. Responsibilities Actively greet customers and sell fine-art photography Learn the stories, materials, sizes, and pricing of the artwork Help customers select the right artwork for their homes Confidently ask for the sale and follow up with interested customers Manage, schedule, train, and motivate gallery employees Set clear sales expectations and address performance problems Oversee daily opening and closing procedures Process sales accurately using the point-of-sale system Coordinate orders, customer information, shipping, and local deliveries Maintain a polished, welcoming, and professional gallery Communicate regularly with the owners about sales, staffing, inventory, and customer needs Take responsibility for the gallery's day-to-day operation when the owners are not present Qualifications Proven experience selling in a retail store, gallery, jewelry store, home-furnishings business, or another customer-focused sales environment Previous experience managing employees A strong sales record, including experience closing higher-priced purchases Comfortable starting conversations and guiding customers toward a decision Organized, responsible, professional, and dependable Able to give employees direction and hold them accountable Comfortable learning a point-of-sale system and handling customer follow-up Genuine interest in art, photography, design, or home décor Available to work five days per week, including weekends and holidays as needed, throughout the full April-October season Compensation and Schedule $70,000 salary for the complete April-October season Five-day workweek Seasonal position requiring a full commitment for the entire season Exact schedule will be based on gallery needs and will include peak weekends and holidays To apply, please send a résumé and a brief introduction explaining your retail sales and employee-management experience.
