Director of Business Development Benefits & Compensation Competitive base salary with significant growth opportunity based on success in the role Comprehensive health and wellness benefits Generous paid time off and holidays Professional, sophisticated work environment with opportunities for career advancement Opportunity to represent some of Boston's most exclusive venues Director of Business Development Requirements & Qualifications 5-7+ years of sales experience in catering, event sales for luxury hotel, boutique hotel, or high-end catering group (candidates from other industries will not be considered) Demonstrated success driving new business and expanding current accounts within the events or luxury hospitality sectors Track record managing large-scale, complex corporate and social events Advanced skills in sales planning, sales management, and team leadership Strong knowledge of facility showcasing, proposal development, and contract negotiation Well-established network of corporate customer contacts in the Greater Boston area Excellent communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities Professional presence and mature, polished demeanor Director of Business Development Preferred Background & Skills Deep understanding of food and beverage pricing and operations Creative approach to marketing, branding, and event design Strong analytical, strategic planning, and financial management skills Sophisticated taste, style, and attention to detail Effective at overcoming objections and building trust Director of Business Development Day-to-Day Responsibilities Serve as the primary sales leader for all exclusive venues, fielding inquiries and conducting client tours Proactively drive new business while expanding existing client relationships across the wedding and corporate event markets Lead all key sales activities, including proposals, contract negotiations, and event menu development Ensure smooth booking processes, troubleshoot issues, and maintain accurate event records using catering software Oversee the creation, direction, and execution of all print and digital marketing materials, collateral, and campaigns Plan and execute business development events and community initiatives to boost brand awareness Collaborate with internal teams to deliver exceptional service and creative event solutions This is a demanding, rewarding full-time position (expect 50-60 hours per week in season ) for a dynamic sales leader passionate about luxury hospitality and exceptional client experiences.
