Hybrid/Remote Considered for the Right Candidate About the Opportunity We are seeking an entrepreneurial and results-driven Sales & Business Development Manager to join our growing team in a newly structured role focused on driving revenue across both existing and new customer markets. This is a unique opportunity for a proven B2B sales professional to step into an established business with an existing customer base, historical sales data, a defined prospect list, an active CRM, and a substantial lead database—and turn those resources into measurable growth. The ideal candidate will be a confident relationship builder and consultative salesperson who can work independently, identify opportunities, develop trusted relationships with decision-makers, and create a sustainable sales pipeline. This individual will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the company's sales strategy and help build and refine the sales function over time. Key Responsibilities Business Development & New Customer Acquisition Identify, prospect, and develop new customer opportunities within existing markets and targeted verticals. Work approximately 160 existing leads and prospects to identify viable opportunities and convert them into new business. Develop relationships with executives, managing directors, purchasing leaders, engineers, operations leaders, and other key decision-makers. Conduct outbound calls, emails, meetings, presentations, and follow-up activities to develop new opportunities. Research target companies and industries to identify potential customers and business opportunities. Develop a consistent pipeline of qualified prospects and opportunities. Represent the company professionally at customer meetings, networking events, industry functions, and other business development opportunities. Existing Account Growth Manage and expand relationships across an existing customer base of approximately 123 accounts. Utilize approximately five years of historical customer data to identify opportunities for increased sales. Re-engage inactive or previously lost customers and develop strategies to recover those accounts. Identify opportunities to increase business with existing customers through additional products, services, programs, or applications. Develop strong, long-term relationships with key customer contacts and decision-makers. Monitor customer activity, purchasing patterns, and historical data to identify opportunities for growth. Sales Strategy & Process Development Take ownership of the sales pipeline and consistently move opportunities from initial contact through close. Utilize the company's existing CRM, target lists, and sales data to prioritize opportunities and track activity. Maintain accurate and timely CRM records, forecasts, customer information, and pipeline activity. Establish measurable sales goals, KPIs, and activity targets in partnership with company leadership. Help develop and refine scalable sales processes, prospecting strategies, and account-development programs. Analyze sales activity and results to determine what strategies are producing the greatest return. Provide regular updates to leadership regarding pipeline, opportunities, challenges, and sales performance. Customer & Internal Collaboration Serve as a trusted point of contact for customers and prospects throughout the sales process. Understand customer needs and collaborate with internal teams to develop appropriate solutions. Work closely with leadership to develop sales strategies and pursue high-value opportunities. Learn the company's products, materials, capabilities, and customer applications to effectively communicate value to prospects. Build credibility with customers by developing a strong understanding of their business and needs. What We're Looking For 5-10 years of successful B2B sales, business development, or account development experience. Demonstrated ability to generate new business while simultaneously growing existing accounts. Strong relationship-building and consultative selling skills. Proven ability to prospect, develop opportunities, and close business. Comfortable communicating with executives, business owners, managing directors, and other senior decision-makers. Strong executive presence and professional communication skills. Self-motivated and comfortable working independently with limited day-to-day supervision. Highly persistent and able to maintain momentum through long sales cycles. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Comfortable working with CRM systems and sales data. Ability to take an existing book of business and prospect database and turn it into measurable revenue growth. Strong business acumen and the ability to understand customer needs and identify opportunities. Preferred Qualifications Experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, technical products, OEM, or other B2B environments is highly preferred, but industry experience is not required for the right candidate. Experience with NetSuite or similar CRM/ERP systems is a plus, but not required. The most important qualities are the ability to sell, build relationships, create opportunities, and independently drive results.
