That 1 Painter South Charlotte | Commission Only That 1 Painter South Charlotte is seeking an experienced, highly motivated home-service sales professional who can generate new business, close profitable projects, and manage those projects from the initial estimate through final completion. This is a hands-on position combining sales, business development, and project management . We need someone who can aggressively pursue opportunities, build relationships, sell the work, organize the resources needed to complete it, and ensure every customer receives an exceptional experience. This is not a position for someone who wants to wait for leads to appear on their calendar. We need a professionally aggressive hunter and relationship-driven farmer who will actively create opportunities through networking, community involvement, social media, referral partnerships, and consistent follow-up. Home-Service Sales Experience Required Qualified candidates should have successful outside-sales experience in one or more home-service or home-improvement industries, such as: Residential or commercial painting Roofing and exterior restoration Gutters, siding, windows, or doors Solar sales Flooring Interior design or remodeling HVAC, plumbing, or electrical services Landscaping, turf, or outdoor living Restoration or other in-home services You must be comfortable entering a customer's home or business, identifying their needs, building value, preparing an accurate estimate, overcoming objections, asking for the sale, and following up until a decision is made. We Need Both a Hunter and a Farmer As a hunter , you will aggressively pursue new revenue by: Developing referral partnerships with real estate agents, property managers, designers, roofers, contractors, and other local professionals Attending networking events, chamber meetings, trade shows, neighborhood events, and community functions Conducting professional business-to-business outreach Generating your own leads and creating new sales opportunities Following up persistently with open estimates and previous customers Identifying underserved neighborhoods, businesses, and market segments As a farmer , you will build lasting relationships by: Staying connected with previous customers Generating repeat business and referrals Requesting and helping secure five-star reviews Maintaining relationships with referral partners Keeping customers informed throughout the sales and project process Representing the company professionally before, during, and after every project Project Management Responsibilities Your responsibility does not end when the customer approves the estimate. You will help manage each sold project from contract signing through final payment and closeout.
Project management responsibilities include:
Reviewing the approved scope of work with the customer Confirming project details, colors, products, scheduling, and expectations Recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and maintaining relationships with qualified subcontractors Matching the appropriate subcontractor or crew to each project Communicating the complete scope of work and project expectations to the crew Ordering paint, materials, and other required products Coordinating product delivery and confirming materials are available before work begins Scheduling projects, subcontractors, and customer communication Conducting project kickoffs and setting clear expectations Monitoring quality, workmanship, cleanliness, progress, and schedule Maintaining regular communication with customers and subcontractors Resolving concerns quickly and professionally Managing changes to the scope of work and documenting approved change orders Conducting final walkthroughs with customers Coordinating punch-list completion Confirming customer satisfaction Collecting final payment and closing out the project properly Requesting reviews, referrals, and future business The successful candidate must be able to balance selling new work with managing active projects. Strong organization, communication, accountability, and attention to detail are essential. Social Media and Community Engagement This position requires someone who understands that modern selling happens both in person and online.
You should be comfortable:
Creating authentic photos, short videos, project updates, and customer-focused content Appearing on camera when appropriate Sharing before-and-after transformations Promoting community involvement and local partnerships Engaging with local businesses, organizations, and neighborhood groups Helping build a recognizable and trusted local brand Working with company leadership to maintain a consistent social media presence You do not need to be a professional content creator, but you must be comfortable using social media as a serious business-development tool. Primary Responsibilities Respond quickly and professionally to incoming leads Conduct residential and commercial sales appointments Measure projects and prepare accurate, detailed estimates Present solutions and confidently ask customers for their business Maintain disciplined follow-up on every outstanding estimate Prospect daily for new customers and referral partners Build and manage a strong sales pipeline Maintain accurate customer notes and sales activity in company software Hire and maintain relationships with qualified subcontractors Order products and coordinate project resources Manage sold projects from approval through final completion Maintain communication with customers and crews Conduct project walkthroughs and quality-control inspections Resolve customer or production concerns promptly Complete punch lists and collect final payment Participate actively in networking and community events Create and contribute social media content Meet established sales, closing-rate, revenue, margin, and activity goals Deliver an outstanding customer experience from the first call through project closeout The Right Candidate Our ideal candidate is: A proven home-service sales professional Experienced in project management or production coordination Competitive, self-motivated, and revenue-focused Professionally aggressive without being pushy or disrespectful Comfortable prospecting and generating opportunities Skilled at building trust with homeowners and business owners Confident asking for the sale and handling objections Persistent and highly disciplined with follow-up Able to recruit, communicate with, and hold subcontractors accountable Capable of managing multiple customers and active projects simultaneously Comfortable ordering products and coordinating job logistics Active and confident in networking environments Capable of developing referral relationships Comfortable creating and appearing in social media content Organized, responsive, and detail-oriented Tech-savvy and able to learn estimating and customer-management software Available Monday through Friday, with some evenings or weekends as needed Able to commute reliably or relocate before starting work Compensation and Benefits This is a commission-only sales and project management position offering: 8% to 10% commission , based on the established compensation structure Uncapped earning potential Company truck Company-provided fuel Performance bonuses and incentives Paid time off and holiday pay, subject to company policy Training, tools, and operational support Opportunities for increased responsibility and professional growth There is no guaranteed base salary for this position.
