Full-Time, 12-month position Vestal Central School District is seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking leader to serve as our Director of Business and Administrative Services.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a district-level administrative position that would have job duties in both Finance and Business, as well as Technology Leadership located just outside Binghamton, NY. As the District's Director of Business, Technology, and Administrative Services, this position will play a critical role in aligning resources with our mission of educational excellence.
This position will provide strategic direction and hands-on leadership across business, fiscal, and IT service operations of the district.

Coordinates school taxes with BOCES CBO and Town of Vesal
Completes Medicaid cost reporting
Completes ST-3 documents
Coordinates and prepares information for GASB 75 actuarial reporting
Coordinates payment of self-insured health insurance invoices
Works with Assistant Superintendent of Finance, Operations and Personnel on self-funded health insurance initiatives
Coordinates BOCES requests for service
Works with Director of Facilities and
BOCES CBO
to maintain accurate district-wide asset inventory and arrange asset inventories
Coordinates with Building Leaders to manage and utilize building budgets
Conducts accounting software trainings for new clerical and support staff as needed
Leads/ co-leads professional development for business office procedures and accounting software for clerical and support staff
Calculates annual raises for all bargaining units
Coordinates with Personnel on health insurance buyouts
Coordinates unemployment claims
Completes salary and benefit surveys Technology Leadership Provides leadership, coordination, and management of instructional technology, information technology, and data staff and services
Leads collaborative revision to the instructional technology strategic plan including incorporating NYSED requirements
Oversees the district's BOCES, local and department budgets for technology
Provides support to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction on IT initiatives; ie: AI utilization for students and teachers
Works with the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction and Assistant Superintendent for Finance, Operations, and Personnel to coordinate IT management and decisions with BOCES Managed IT Services Data Support Collaborates with the Associate Coordinator for Managed Data Services and the cabinet to use data to support decision making in both the instructional and operational realms. Helps instructional administrators access data in a usable form and in a timely enough fashion to inform instruction
Uses instructional data systems (e.g., MTSS Edge, Forecast Five, RIC Level 1 and 2 Reporting, RIC Data Dashboards) to access data, convert it to more usable formats and visualizations, and to spot trends that can inform decision-making. Maintains user accounts in Renaissance and Edge.
Helps building-level Student Support Teams access and analyze data to inform decisions
Helps provide data support for practitioner inquiry projects
Job Qualifications Certification Required:
New York State:
School District Business Leader (SDBL) or School District Leader (SDL) or School District Administrator (SDA)
Experience:
3-5 years of successful administrative leadership preferred
