St. Louis Based | In-Person | Multi-Location Leadership $55,000 per year Plus vehicle allowance, performance-based bonus eligibility and benefits About the Opportunity A well-established specialty retail organization is seeking an experienced, hands-on District Manager to lead and support multiple retail locations in the St. Louis market. This is a confidential leadership opportunity for a results-driven retail professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing people, and understands how to drive sales through strong store-level execution. The District Manager is an active, working leadership position. You will spend the majority of your time in stores, partnering directly with Store Managers and their teams to improve performance, coach employees, resolve operational challenges, and ensure consistent execution of company standards. We are looking for a leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves, leading from the sales floor, and helping teams achieve measurable results. Key Responsibilities Sales Performance & Business Results Drive sales growth and operational performance across assigned retail locations. Coach Store Managers and Sales Associates on customer engagement, active selling, and add-on sales. Identify daily sales opportunities and translate coaching into improved results. Monitor key performance indicators, including sales, labor, staffing, shrink, and merchandising. Support promotional initiatives, product launches, and company sales programs. Leadership & Team Development Provide hands-on leadership and support to Store Managers and their teams. Recruit, interview, onboard, train, and develop employees across assigned locations. Strengthen selling skills, product knowledge, and customer-service execution. Support staffing, scheduling, performance management, and employee development. Provide clear direction, constructive feedback, and consistent accountability. Step in to provide additional leadership or coverage when needed. Store Operations & Execution Work regularly in each assigned store to maintain a strong understanding of performance and operational needs. Ensure consistent execution of merchandising, cleanliness, operational, and customer-service standards. Resolve escalated customer, employee, and operational concerns. Support company initiatives, training programs, and operational improvements. Maintain effective communication with senior leadership regarding results, staffing, opportunities, and challenges. Qualifications & Experience Proven retail management experience with a demonstrated ability to lead teams and drive sales. Previous experience as a Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, District Manager, Area Manager, or comparable retail leadership role. Experience leading and developing other managers preferred. Strong background in sales coaching, active selling, and customer engagement. Demonstrated ability to manage staffing, scheduling, and daily retail operations. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Ability to build relationships and work effectively with employees at all levels. Hands-on leadership approach with a willingness to work directly alongside store teams. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage priorities across multiple locations. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly between assigned stores. Must successfully complete a background check. Schedule & Travel Full-time, salaried position. St. Louis-based position with regular travel between assigned retail locations. Approximately 75% travel required. Retail schedule that includes some evenings, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility to provide additional store leadership or operational coverage when necessary.
Compensation & Benefits Annual Salary:
