This pivotal role focuses on expanding our presence and building strong relationships within Hispanic and diverse ethnic markets. You will drive business development strategies, foster cross-functional collaboration, and leverage your expertise in sales and marketing to unlock new opportunities. The Hispanic Channel Business Development Director is responsible for accelerating the profitable growth and distribution of Monarca's Hispanic/Ethnic snacks portfolio across the U.S. This is a highly commercial, market-facing role focused on new business development, strategic Hispanic retail accounts, distributor network expansion and strong in-market execution. The Director will work closely with the Hispanic & Private Label Business Unit Leader and cross-functional teams to identify and convert growth opportunities, expand distribution with Hispanic retailers and independent stores, strengthen Monarca's route-to-market capabilities, and deliver sustainable profitable growth. The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial business builder and hunter, with strong relationships across the Hispanic retail and distributor ecosystem and a demonstrated ability to translate commercial strategy into execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Hispanic Snacks Business Development and Market Expansion Identify, develop and close new business opportunities with Hispanic retailers, regional chains and other strategic customers. Build a strong pipeline of incremental distribution and revenue opportunities across priority U.S. markets. Develop senior-level relationships with key customers and convert opportunities into sustainable, profitable business. Expand distribution and market presence of Monarca's Hispanic brands, including Las Ricas, Cazo de Oro, Mac's and other relevant portfolio opportunities. Distributor Network Development Connect and build a strategic distributor network to penetrate Monarca's portfolio Hispanic Retail and Independent stores across the USA Identify distributor coverage gaps and develop market-entry plant to expand penetration of independent Hispanic stores and regional chains. Establish clear distributor performance expectations and monitor sales, distribution and execution. Develop the appropriate route-to-market strategy by market, leveraging distributors, DSD and other commercial models as appropriate. Go-to-Market & Field Execution. Translate commercial strategy into actionable market-level execution Partner with DSD, distributors and internal sales teams to improve assortment, distribution and execution. Regularly spend time in priority markets evaluating customer opportunities, competitive activity and execution. Identify execution gaps and implement corrective commercial actions.
Profitability Focus:
Deliver revenue, margin and distribution objectives for assigned customers, distributors and growth initiatives. Develop commercially sound pricing, promotional and customer strategies. Evaluate opportunities based on both strategic value and profitability. Manage budgets and ensure the achievement of revenue and profitability targets. Maintain a disciplined pipeline and provide clear forecasts and progress against key growth initiatives.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Sales, Marketing, R D, and Operations Teams to ensure seamless execution of key initiatives and delivery of business key initiatives. Provide market/customer insights to support innovation, portfolio and price-pack architecture decisions. Serve as the commercial link between customers and internal teams.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
Establish KPIs for the strategic growth initiatives implementation, track progress, and provide regular updates to the Business Unit Leader and Leadership Team. Prepare and deliver data-driven recommendations for strategic adjustments as needed to meet business goals.
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, or equivalent relevant commercial experience 8-12+ years of progressive CPG sales, experience in business development and leadership roles, preferably within food and snacks market or related industries. Strong track record of driving growth in a Multicultural or Hispanic-focused market. Deep understanding of Hispanic/Ethnic markets and channels dynamics in the USA. Proven track record building and developing Hispanic distributor networks, with established relationships across key U.S. markets strongly preferred. Strong understanding of DSD, distributor and direct-to-retail go-to-market models. Strategic thinking, problem-solving, entrepreneurial mindset and execution skills. Proven ability to identify market opportunities and turn them into actionable plans. Proven track record of driving profitable growth with strong understanding of P&L and customer economics in a multicultural environment. Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills. Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred. Ability and willingness to travel approximately 30-40%, frequent travel to priority Hispanic/Ethnic markets.
