This role is accountable for driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening long-term customer partnerships within the oil & gas industry. This individual will serve as a senior commercial leader, owning the full business development lifecycle—from strategic planning and market analysis to relationship development, opportunity identification, proposal execution, and contract negotiation. The role requires a strong understanding of water transfer operations, field execution, and customer expectations in fast-paced, high-demand environments. The Director will work closely with Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment between commercial strategy and operational delivery. Success in this role requires the ability to balance aggressive growth objectives with disciplined pricing, risk management, and high-quality customer execution. This role is responsible for sales in our Permian Region (Odessa/Midland, Texas) Market and must reside in the market. Responsibilities Business Development & Revenue Growth Lead all business development efforts for water transfer services across assigned regions Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities with oil & gas operators Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow revenue, expand market share, and increase customer penetration Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and drive consistent deal flow Track and report on sales performance, forecasts, and key performance indicators Customer Relationship Management Serve as the primary point of contact and Account Executive for key customers Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers, field personnel, and procurement teams Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through consistent communication and proactive problem-solving Conduct regular customer meetings, site visits, and business reviews to strengthen partnerships Proposal Development & Contract Execution Prepare and deliver detailed proposals, cost estimates, and work plans tailored to customer needs Collaborate with Operations and Finance to ensure accurate pricing and scope alignment Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable terms while maintaining profitability Ensure all agreements are properly documented and executed Operational Alignment & Execution Support Partner closely with Operations teams to ensure seamless transition from sales to execution Align customer expectations with field capabilities and project timelines Support Operations in resolving customer issues, change orders, and scope adjustments Maintain visibility into active projects to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business Market Intelligence & Strategy Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs within the oil & gas industry Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on pricing, positioning, and service offerings Support expansion into new geographies, customers, or service lines Identify opportunities for differentiation through technology, service delivery, or operational efficiency Internal Collaboration & Process Improvement Work cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, HR, and Leadership teams to support business objectives Utilize CRM tools to track all customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline activity Contribute to the development and improvement of sales processes, tools, and reporting Maintain accurate documentation and reporting to support forecasting and decision-making Industry Representation Represent the Company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities Build and maintain a strong professional network within the oil & gas industry Promote the Company's capabilities, services, and value proposition to prospective customers
Requirements Core Commercial Skills:
Advanced sales and negotiation skills with the ability to close high-value, multi-service contracts Strong relationship management skills with a focus on long-term account growth and customer retention Ability to identify customer needs and translate them into operationally executable solutions Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with company growth objectives
Industry & Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of water transfer systems, including pumping, piping, layflat, manifolds, automation, and system design Working knowledge of oil & gas field operations, including drilling and completions activity Understanding of pricing structures, cost drivers, and margin expectations within field services Familiarity with safety and environmental expectations in oil & gas operations Experience supporting large-scale pad development, completions activity, or infrastructure buildout Strong understanding of Appalachian Basin markets
Leadership & Execution:
Ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a fast-paced environment Strong collaboration skills with Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership Ability to manage multiple opportunities, priorities, and timelines simultaneously Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a focus on results
Communication & Systems:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proposal development and executive-level presentations Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline activity, forecasting, and customer interactions
