Job Description

Assistant Manager - Jans at The St. Regis Jans at The St. Regis is located on the ski-in/ski-out level of the hotel and provides premium ski rentals, ski outerwear, accessories, and exceptional guest service to hotel guests. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Rental Manager, buyers, and hotel administration to ensure elevated guest experience and smooth day-to-day store operations. This position is primarily responsible for managing the retail floor and merchandise, coordinating group rental reservations, maintaining strong communication between Jans and hotel teams, and delivering high-quality customer service to hotel guests. The tentative start date is November 15, 2026. Salary is DOE (depending on experience). This is a seasonal winter position. Key Skills & Responsibilities Organization & Operations
  • Follow through group bookings from initial arrangements through completion to ensure seamless guest experience.
  • Prepare, organize and coordinate group set-up and communicate all necessary details to staff.
  • Ensure efficient day-to-day operation of the store, balancing the POS register, and management duties daily.
  • Maintain an organized, professional, and well-presented retail environment.
  • Hold all team members accountable to drive results by being available, removing barriers and obstacles, facilitating change, and providing coaching/feedback related to performance.
  • Monitoring customer feedback and responding to and addressing all customer concerns quickly. Communication
  • Communicate group requirements, expectations, schedules, and special requests clearly between store staff, hotel staff, and group representatives.
  • Foster collaboration between Jans and The St. Regis teams.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest and operational needs while providing effective solutions. Guest Service
  • Deliver an exceptional, personalized guest experience consistent with a luxury hotel environment.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Build positive relationships with hotel guests, hotel staff, group representatives, and Jans team members.
  • Take ownership of guest concerns and work proactively to resolve issues. Store & Product Knowledge
  • Develop a strong understanding of Jans operations, policies, procedures, and services.
  • Become an expert in Jans products, sales, ski rentals, outerwear, accessories, and related offerings.
  • Maintain current knowledge of merchandise, product features, and industry trends.
  • Understand and communicate the full range of products and services Jans offers its customers. Scheduling
  • Salaried position based on a minimum of 40 hours per week.
  • Weekend and holiday availability required according to store and hotel operational needs.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • College coursework or degree in Business, Hospitality, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous administrative or supervisory experience preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant retail, merchandising, ski industry, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.
