Director of Sales Job Details An ideal Director of Sales candidate must possess extensive knowledge of hotel operations, a positive attitude, strong prospecting skills, strong networking skills, and the ability to work without supervision. The Director of Sales must be able to work well with others, communicate effectively and respond in a timely manner, follow through on all the details, be able to multitask and epitomize professionalism with all hotel departments.
Director of Sales Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain market awareness to ensure ability to predict revenue opportunities and set proactive strategies Operate the sales department within established sales expense budget Directly responsible for meeting and exceeding sales goals as established by Area/Regional Director of Sales & Marketing and/or General Manager Achieve and grow local account and global account partnerships Communicate needs directly to hotel operations team to ensure guest satisfaction Coordinate, prepare and achieve goals set in annual

Experience:
Hotel Management, General Business or Marketing degree preferred Two or more years hotel experience/ prefer hotel sales experience Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Director of Sales Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proactive personality and work style Strong team builder Excellent oral and written communication skills Be able to analyze and understand the STR report, both weekly and monthly Director of Sales Special Requirements Prompt and regular attendance The hotel operates 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Department schedules must accommodate fluctuating business demands and associates may be asked to work shifts other than those they prefer or normally work and overtime as required. Current and valid drivers license. Over-night travel as necessary. Adhere to requirements, policies, and procedures outlined in Employee Handbook and/or other property documents.
