Whatnot Live Sales Host (In-Store)
Location:
Bricks & Minifigs Issaquah, 1490 NW Gilman Blvd, Issaquah, WA 98027
Job Type:
Part-Time, Contract Role Overview Bricks & Minifigs Issaquah is seeking an experienced Whatnot (or live sales) host to run scheduled LEGO live-selling shows from our retail store. This role is focused on consistent, well-run shows that support overall store performance. It is not about one-off spikes or high-risk discounting. This is an in-store, on-camera role and is part of a larger retail team. We prioritize professionalism, inventory discipline, and long-term channel health. Key Responsibilities Host live Whatnot shows from our Issaquah store.
Run structured auction formats:
single-item auctions, bundles, themed shows, and similar. Maintain clear pacing, engagement, and communication with viewers. Accurately present LEGO sets, minifigures, and collectibles. Answer buyer questions in real time. Organize and prepare items for shipping or prepare items for in-store pickup. Work with store associates and management during and after live shows for prep, cleanup, and shipments or store pickups. Provided support for post-show questions and messages. Show Preparation & Execution Review, prepare, and list pre-approved inventory before each show. Follow established show formats, pricing guidelines, and inventory rules.
Assist with basic setup:
camera, lighting, staging. Coordinate with store management on featured items and promotions. Review sales goals with management and work to pitch and implement strategies to hit those goals. Post-Show Support Assist with post-show organization and order verification. Organize and prep all orders, from Whatnot (or other platforms) and possibly other e-commerce sources. While another associate handles the actual packing and shipping, this role can help her when possible. Flag any issues with buyers, bids, or inventory, and provide limited customer support. Provide basic feedback on show performance and audience response. Brand & Team Alignment Represent Bricks & Minifigs Issaquah and the brand in general professionally on camera. Maintain a family-friendly, inclusive tone consistent with the brand. Work collaboratively with store staff and management. Qualifications (Required) Prior Whatnot hosting, live-selling experience, or livestreaming experience. Having your own social media presence or YouTube channel is a plus. Comfortable on camera for 1-4 hour live shows. Strong verbal communication and customer engagement skills. This is a role for extroverts. Comfortable in a retail, customer-facing environment. Comfortable with repetitive tasks, such as shipping and packing boxes. Advanced computer and online competency. Ability to self-manage within guidelines set by management. Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to scheduled show times and prompt shipping. Basic knowledge of LEGO products and related terms. Able to work in-store in Issaquah, WA, on a schedule that includes weekday and weekend shows. Preferred Experience Extensive knowledge of LEGO products: sets, minifigures, themes. Experience with collectibles, auctions, or live commerce. Retail or e-commerce background. Understanding of live show pacing, sell-through, and audience retention. Schedule & Hours Typically 2-3 shows per week, totaling about 7-10 hours a week including hosting, prep, and post-show clean-up, organization and item preparations. Shows run anywhere from 1-4 hours. Additional paid prep and wrap-up time as needed. Schedule set in advance. Compensation This role is hourly, with a performance bonus tied to each show's results. $20.00/hour base rate. Eligible for a per-show bonus tied to that show's sales performance. Details to be discussed during the interview process. Eligible for store performance bonus. Opportunity to grow into a larger e-commerce strategy or management role over time. Paid in-store training provided. Compensation is designed to reward consistency and profitable store performance, not aggressive discounting. Why This Role Exists Our Whatnot channel already generates meaningful revenue and is growing steadily.
