The purpose of the Retail Business Development Manager is to drive profitable growth with new and existing customers by actively seeking out and engaging customer prospects for Seaside Casual and products that align with the customer's needs.

Position Overview:

The Retail Business Development Manager is considered a resource and advisor to customers through engagement (phone calls, Zoom calls, e-mails, site visits, home office visits, and face-to-face interaction) with new customers and established accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Growth Minded Achieves individual sales goals Establishes rapport and credibility with new customers. Adapts selling techniques and applies them creatively to meet customer needs. Engages customers through calls, trips, meetings, emails, presentations, and quotations to drive business growth and create urgency. Develops plans that support growth objectives. Identifies customer needs and assists them in understanding the solutions and benefits. Participates in planning and ongoing review of territory performance. Provides detailed plans and reporting at the start of each month on sales trip activity using Salesforce to record that activity and collaborate with your Director of Sales. Develops an understanding of market-specific insights. Travels to customer locations or key conferences/meetings (up to 60% travel) to demonstrate products. Supports the team by developing quotes and processing orders as required. Teamwork Serves as an accountable business leader, providing support to less tenured sales team members. Collaborates effectively with team members and with cross-functional teams to facilitate customer goal attainment. Presents solutions and exhibits strong problem-solving capabilities. Seeks to understand account needs and maintains routine communication with Marketing and Sales. Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills for both internal and external customers. Ability to help with trade show planning prep (including shipment prep), New Product Development insights, live training, and in-person customer home office meetings. Will make accommodations to be at the Headquarters office in Sussex, W for strategic planning meetings Technology and Software Utilizes and leverages all required software and tools (including CRM, Orum, ZoomInfo, Nextiva) to record customer interactions and insights, and to enhance operational efficiency. Reviews and analyzes marketing data for incoming leads and responds appropriately and promptly. Utilizes current and all future software programs and tools to identify opportunities within target accounts.

What Success Looks Like:

Retail Business Development Manager achieves sales results and is accountable for delivering a positive customer experience, and leads by example within the organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 1 year of experience in sales Must possess a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle with insurance. Excellent verbal and written communication and strong listening skills to engage with customers and internal teams. Strong customer focus with the ability to build rapport and manage relationships through networking, product demos, and sales presentations. A deep understanding of the industry, product, market trends, and competitive landscape. Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, such as Salesforce. Proficient in Microsoft Word/Google Docs, Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets, and cloud-based computer programs Proficiency in internet-based research, analyzing data, and using statistical software to make informed decisions. Ability to understand and execute instructions (written, oral, or diagrammatic) Solutions-oriented with an ability to problem-solve and a dedication to quality. Ability to collaborate and be a supportive team player. Ability to multitask and prioritize.

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

Ability to perform work remotely, with the expectation to be on-site or traveling for client engagements as required. Frequently required to talk, hear, sit, twist, use hands/ fingers to push, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly required to stand and walk. Regularly lift and/or move up to 5 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and depth perception.
