Memberships & Partnerships Manager Position Summary:
The Memberships & Partnerships Manager is a relationship-based sales and engagement leader responsible for growing and sustaining NARI Milwaukee membership. Working closely with the Executive Director, this role leads the organization's membership priorities: new member recruitment and conversion member retention, onboarding, and engagement sponsorship sales and partner relationship development The Membership & Partnerships Manager is a relationship-based leader responsible for growing and strengthening NARI Milwaukee's membership community and partner relationships. Working closely with the Executive Director, this role leads the organization's membership priorities: new member recruitment and conversion; member retention, onboarding, and engagement; and sponsorship sales and partner relationship development. This position serves as a key connector between NARI Milwaukee and its members, prospective members, sponsors, and industry partners, helping individuals and companies understand the value of membership, identify the opportunities and connections that best fit their needs, and stay actively connected over time.

Full Time -Hourly $55,000-$65,000 base, depends on experience, plus commission on retention, new members, sponsorship sales and other incentives.

It is the largest chapter of NARI (National Association of the Remodeling Industry) with nearly 550 company members and is the area's leading home improvement and remodeling industry resource for over 60 years. NARI Milwaukee is the medium for business development, a platform for advocacy and the source for industry intelligence for its members. We connect consumers with our professional members and provide education and knowledge so the consumer has a positive remodeling experience. We conduct the largest member only consumer home show in the country along with other high-profile consumer and member events throughout the year. Members are committed to integrity, high standards, professional education, ethics and market recognition. NARI is the only national trade association dedicated solely to the remodeling industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
New Member Recruitment and Conversion
  • Develop, implement, evaluate, and improve a comprehensive membership recruitment strategy to grow NARI Milwaukee membership.
  • Build and manage a prospect pipeline, including identifying, cultivating, and converting prospective members.
  • Conduct outreach to prospective members through calls, emails, in-person meetings, industry events, referrals, and follow-up activity.
  • Clearly communicate the NARI Milwaukee value proposition and guide prospects through the membership decision process.
  • Represent NARI Milwaukee in the community and industry in a professional, relationship-driven manner that creates new opportunities for membership growth.
  • Maintain accurate prospect and member data in the AMS/CRM, including pipeline activity, notes, follow-up, and status changes.
  • Track recruitment activity, conversion progress, and results against goals and budget. Retention, Onboarding, and Member Engagement
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of NARI Milwaukee's full range of programs, benefits, events, educational offerings, sponsorship opportunities, and engagement pathways in order to connect members and prospective members to the opportunities that best fit their company goals, needs, and stage of growth.
  • Lead membership retention efforts, including renewal outreach, dues follow-up, re-engagement activity, and retention process improvement.
  • Own the onboarding experience for new members, including outreach, first-year activation, and helping members understand how to engage with NARI Milwaukee.
  • Conduct courtesy calls and outreach to new, renewing, and at-risk members to strengthen relationships and reduce disengagement.
  • Monitor member feedback, participation patterns, and engagement signals to identify opportunities for improved member connection and retention.
  • Help connect members to the right next steps, including events, committees, sponsorship opportunities, educational offerings, and membership pathways.
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to strengthen member engagement efforts while maintaining accountability for retention, recruitment, and first-year member outcomes.
  • Support engagement initiatives and committee efforts by routing member needs, concerns, and opportunities to the appropriate staff owner for follow-up.
  • Survey member satisfaction, analyze responses, and recommend improvements to strengthen member value, satisfaction, and overall member experience. Sponsorship and Non-dues Revenue Sales
  • Lead sponsorship and non-dues revenue sales for designated NARI Milwaukee programs, events, and both consumer and member-facing opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong year-round relationships with current and prospective sponsors, exhibitors, and industry partners.
  • Identify, solicit, and secure sponsorship opportunities that align with organizational priorities and revenue goals.
  • Support sponsor renewals, upselling, and pipeline development through consistent relationship management and follow-up.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to ensure sponsors are well supported and properly handed off for fulfillment, activation, and event execution, while maintaining ownership of the sponsor sales relationship.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities that support membership value, event participation, and non-dues revenue growth. Organizational and Collaborative Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Executive Director to set goals, priorities, and performance expectations related to membership and sponsorship growth.
  • Collaborate with staff on messaging, campaigns, and outreach tools that support recruitment, retention, sponsorship, and engagement efforts.
  • Serve as staff liaison to assigned committees or groups as directed, ensuring alignment with staff priorities and organizational goals.
  • Attend local business, industry, and association events as needed to maintain visibility, relationships, and growth opportunities.
  • Provide regular reporting related to membership activity, retention, sponsorship sales, revenue performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Build collaborative relationships with staff, members, and committees.
  • Represent NARI Milwaukee professionally and consistently in support of the organization's mission, goals, and member experience.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrated experience in membership, sales, business development, account management, or association management preferred.
  • Minimum three years of related experience in sales, membership, sponsorship, relationship management, or a similar business development role.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship-based selling, account growth, or revenue generation.
  • Ability to build trust quickly and develop relationships with diverse stakeholders, including members, prospects, sponsors, board members, and volunteers.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to motivate, negotiate, influence, and follow through with professionalism and persistence.
  • Experience managing pipelines, follow-up activity, and contact data in an AMS/CRM, or similar system.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting demands.
  • Comfort with outbound calls, direct outreach, networking, and in-person relationship building.
  • Ability to analyze feedback, participation patterns, and results in order to recommend improvements.
  • Construction/remodeling industry familiarity and/or interest strongly desired.
  • Experience working with a nonprofit association preferred.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as AMS/CRM systems.
  • Strong work ethic with a positive attitude, openness to feedback, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Valid driver's license, car insurance, and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel locally and work occasional evenings and limited weekends as needed.
Physical Requirements:
Frequently (75% to 100%) standing, walking, sitting, light lifting, light carrying, handling, speaking, hearing, seeing and typing. Occasionally (up to 30%) moderate lifting, moderate carrying, stooping, kneeling and reaching.

Professional Development Stipend Evaluation:
Evaluation will occur on an annual basis and will be based on job description, previous assessment, strategic plan and performance improvement plan. Success in this role will be measured by performance in the following areas: new member recruitment and conversion retention and renewal results onboarding and first-year member activation member engagement and re-engagement outcomes sponsorship sales and sponsorship renewal performance quality of relationship management, data tracking, and follow-through contribution to budgeted membership and sponsorship revenue goals
