What they do
A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.

As a Head Cashier, you'll lead the front-end team to ensure smooth and efficient checkout operations. You'll oversee shift schedules, guide and coach cashier team members, and maintain accurate handling of various payment types. You'll also ensure checkout areas are clean, organized, and well-stocked, while assisting customers with inquiries and resolving concerns. This role is ideal for someone with a strong customer-service mindset, a passion for team development, and a focus on creating a seamless shopping experience. Leadership Experience:
Previous experience in a supervisor or team lead role, ideally in a retail or customer-facing environment.

Point-of-Sale Proficiency:
Comfort working with POS systems and handling various payment types accurately.

Customer Service Excellence:
Ability to resolve customer concerns with professionalism and empathy.

Team Development:
Strong coaching and mentoring skills to promote cashier performance and growth.

Organizational Skills:
Capable of managing shift schedules, maintaining front-end cleanliness, and ensuring supplies are stocked.
