This position is responsible for processing transactions, assisting with food preparation, delivering orders, and maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked café. FLSA Classification This position is classified as Non-Exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Employees in this position are eligible for overtime compensation in accordance with applicable federal and state laws. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Accurately collect payments and process transactions using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle cash and reconcile transactions in accordance with established procedures. Relay customer orders to kitchen staff clearly and efficiently. Assist with basic food preparation as needed. Deliver completed orders to customers in a timely manner. Maintain the cleanliness of the café, including counters, tables, and service areas. Restock supplies and inventory as needed. Assist with special event meals (e.g., holiday meals or catered events). Perform additional duties as assigned. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Up to six (6) months of related experience and/or training preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous cash handling experience required. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Schedule Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Additional days may be assigned with advance notice. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time. Frequent bending, squatting, and twisting. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
