August 2024 Summary/Objective The School Cashier serves healthy lunch items for students, staff, and faculty, and maintains a clean and sanitary workstation and kitchen. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Ensures proper preparation of equipment, refrigeration, hot boxes, freezer, snack displays, and condiment/utensil stations.
  • Ensures proper preparation and distribution of breakfast and snacks for daily walk-up sales.
  • Ensures proper preparation and distribution of pre-ordered lunches.
  • Assist with labeling and stocking of items to be sold, combo boxes etc.
  • Assures presentation of all menu items adhere to established standards.
  • Assures all menu items are prepared according to established policies and procedures.
  • Remove trash and garbage.
  • Sweep/mop floors
  • Operation of POS tablet.
  • Ensure menu displays are correct daily.
  • Providing excellent & comprehensive customer service to students, parents, and school faculty and staff members
  • Serves food that is the correct serving temperature and quality. Any substandard quality food must be brought to the attention of the food and nutrition manager and properly discarded
  • Follows all sanitation guidelines.
  • Maintains appearance of all equipment and serving counters.
  • Supports on site catering when needed. Maintain up to date communication with Management & Culinary team. Competencies

The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee should be able to stand for a long period of time approximately one full shift. This position requires light standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching above shoulders, and crouching. This position may require occasional lifting of products weighing up to 20 pounds. Employment Type/Expected Hours of Work Position Type School Cashier is a seasonal position. During the school year, it is either a full-time position, working 37-40 hours a week or a part-time position, typically working 26 or less hours a week. Employment Schedule This position is in a school setting which mirrors a typical school year schedule. Daily schedules may vary depending on school hours, i.e., minimum days. The School Cashier will observe the following break periods within their employment and will be unpaid during that time. Changes in schedule vary annually based on the school location's yearly schedule.
