Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and personable Cashier to join our grocery team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to handle transactions efficiently and accurately. As a Cashier, you will be the face of our store, ensuring each customer has a positive shopping experience by providing friendly service, managing sales transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. Bilingual abilities and prior retail or grocery store experience are highly valued for this role. Duties Operate cash registers and POS (Point of Sale) systems to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash drawer handling at all times. Assist customers with product inquiries, product demos, and upselling to enhance their shopping experience. Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the sales floor remains tidy and inviting. Maintain excellent phone etiquette when responding to customer inquiries or coordinating with team members. Support merchandising efforts by organizing displays and ensuring products are well-presented. Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and fostering a welcoming environment. Skills Proficiency in POS systems and cash register operations with strong basic math skills. Previous supervising experience in retail or grocery environments is preferred. Ability to perform retail math accurately for transactions, discounts, and returns. Knowledge of retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques. Experience with grocery store operations, including stocking and inventory management. Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats; bilingual abilities are advantageous. Demonstrated ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a positive attitude. Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to handle diverse customer interactions professionally.
