Duties Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately to process retail sales transactions, including cash, credit/debit cards, and mobile payments. Provide friendly and professional customer service by greeting shoppers, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries. Conduct product demos when applicable, highlighting features and benefits to encourage upselling opportunities. Manage cash register operations with precision, including cash handling, balancing cash drawers, and reconciling daily sales. Stock shelves and organize merchandise to ensure the store remains attractive and well-maintained. Assist with inventory management through stocking, merchandising, and participating in stock counts. Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors over the phone. Support sales initiatives through upselling techniques and promoting store promotions or new products. Maintain knowledge of store product offerings, including grocery items if applicable, to better assist customers. Engage in basic retail math calculations for transactions, discounts, or returns as needed. Participate in product demos or promotional events to enhance customer engagement and sales. Skills Proven experience operating POS systems and handling retail sales transactions efficiently. Supervising experience is a plus—able to oversee cashier shifts or assist team members as needed. Strong communication skills with the ability to provide excellent customer service in a bilingual environment if applicable. Knowledge of cashiering procedures, cash drawer handling, and retail math fundamentals. Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions involving change or discounts. Familiarity with retail store product knowledge and merchandising techniques. Experience in grocery store environments or similar retail settings is highly desirable. Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills for engaging with customers professionally. Demonstrated ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive shopping experience.
