Morning Shift Convenience Store Associate - 5 AM to 1 PM One Stop C Store in Valdosta is looking for a dependable, hardworking, and responsible Store Associate to join our morning team. This is an all-around convenience store position , not just a cashier role. The person in this position will be responsible for helping keep the store running smoothly throughout the morning—including customer service, operating the register, simple food preparation, stocking, cleaning, and keeping the store organized. The primary schedule is 5:00 AM-1:00 PM , with the opportunity to move from part-time to full-time hours . Applicants must be able to consistently report to work by 5:00 AM and should have some flexibility to work an occasional evening or closing shift when needed for call-outs, vacations, or other scheduling needs. We are looking for someone who can work independently, recognize what needs to be done, and stay productive without needing constant supervision. Responsibilities Greet customers and provide friendly, professional service Operate the cash register/POS system accurately Handle cash, credit/debit, lottery, tobacco, and other convenience-store transactions as applicable Follow age-verification procedures for restricted products Prepare simple breakfast and other food items using our oven-based food program Keep food prepared, fresh, stocked, and ready for customers during the morning Stock coolers, beverages, snacks, cigarettes, and other merchandise Restock shelves and organize merchandise throughout the shift Help receive and put away deliveries when needed Keep the register area, food area, counters, coolers, floors, and overall store clean and organized Complete routine cleaning duties and take out trash Monitor the store throughout the shift and take care of tasks as they arise Handle multiple responsibilities efficiently during busy periods Follow store procedures for cash handling, food safety, cleanliness, and customer service Qualifications Must be dependable and punctual and able to consistently report to work by 5:00 AM Must have reliable transportation to arrive for early-morning shifts Must have some flexibility to work occasional evening or closing shifts when needed Honest, responsible, and trustworthy Friendly and professional with customers Comfortable handling cash and working with a POS/register system Able to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities Self-motivated and able to stay productive without constant supervision Comfortable with basic cooking and food preparation Willing to clean, stock, and perform other normal convenience-store duties Able to stand for extended periods and perform normal lifting and stocking duties Preferred Experience Previous experience in a convenience store, gas station, grocery store, retail store, dollar store, restaurant, fast-food restaurant, deli, or similar customer-service environment is preferred. Experience with any of the following is a plus: Convenience store or gas station operations Cash handling and POS/register systems Lottery and tobacco sales Stocking and merchandising Cooler stocking Food preparation Opening or early-morning shifts Receiving merchandise and deliveries Working independently in a retail environment What Success Looks Like We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their shift . The right person does more than wait at the register—they notice when the cooler needs stocking, food needs to be prepared, merchandise needs to be replenished, or an area needs cleaning and takes care of it. A successful associate keeps customers taken care of, food ready, merchandise stocked, and the store clean and organized while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
