POSITION
Cashier Reports to:
Head Cashier Summary:
The Cashier is responsible for the daily management of the cash register and assisting customers. The ReStore Team is a creative and hardworking team of paid and volunteer staff working together to raise funds to help hard working families in the community get into affordable, safe, and decent housing through Habitat for Humanity of the Magic Valley.
Duties:
Must be a self-starter who can work well independently and in a team environment. Greet all customers and coordinate assistance as needed. Provide excellent customer service. Operate and manage cash register accurately. Ensure cash register area is secure. Process paperwork and sales correctly. Bag sold merchandise. Answer telephone as needed. Keep areas clean and tidy. Assist in keeping the store clean and organized. Assist in keeping the store safe at all times. Be aware of any additional discounts on merchandise. Be aware of store policies and volunteer guidelines. Be able to answer basic questions about Habitat for Humanity. Retail experience a plus, but not necessary. Other duties as assigned. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, this position: Requires ability to safely lift or move objects weighing 50 pounds on occasional basis. Requires the physical ability to stand the majority of the day while moving about the store assisting customers. Indoor and outdoor work at times. Must wear closed-toed shoes and pants. Bermuda shorts and capris are acceptable.
