Wasson Nursery Inc is hiring a Lead Cashier in Fishers, IN. This is a full-time position. •This role is a seasonal full-time position. Hours may vary during off-season customer traffic.•The Lead Cashier serves as the front-line leader of the checkout experience, ensuring exceptional customer service, accurate transaction processing, and efficient front-end operations. This role supports the Customer Experience Manager by providing daily direction to cashiers, assisting with training, resolving customer concerns, maintaining register accountability, and helping create a welcoming shopping experience. The Lead Cashier leads by example while supporting overall store sales, operational excellence, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities Front-End Leadership and Customer Experience:
Lead the daily front-end operation and serve as the primary support resource for cashiers Deliver exceptional customer service and assist with resolving customer concerns Train, coach, and support cashiers on company procedures and service standards Reinforce performance expectations and promote a positive team environment Support scheduling needs and communicate operational concerns to the Customer Experience Manager Develop working knowledge of plant material, including house plants, to assist customers and support the retail team Serve as a front-line resource for customer inquiries, directing calls and requests to the appropriate department
Retail Operations and Cash Management:
Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer transactions Support opening and closing procedures, register accountability, and cash handling standards Monitor front-end efficiency and maintain clean, organized checkout areas Assist with returns, exchanges, promotions, merchandising, and inventory support Support administrative functions including scheduling, communication, and operational documentation Collaborate with store leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and achieve retail performance Perform additional duties as assigned
