A Head Cashier manages all checkout functions including ensuring adequate staffing levels on checkouts, the processing of sales transactions and refunds, monitoring cash drawer amounts and maintaining the checkout area. Head cashier provides first level escalation for customer issues and assists in the supervision and training of cashiers. Head cashier may also be responsible for opening or closing procedures of a store, including alarm operation, unlocking store and setting up of checkout area.
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Director of Cage & Vault to lead our cash management operations within the casino environment. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of cash handling, cashiering, and record-keeping functions, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and industry standards. Duties Lead and supervise the cage and vault teams to ensure smooth cash transactions, cashiering procedures, and vault operations. Oversee processing of cash transactions with accuracy, verifying cash amounts against records using basic math skills and 10-key typing. Maintain strict adherence to casino cash handling policies, banking regulations, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). Ensure proper record keeping of all financial transactions, including daily cash counts, audits, and reconciliation reports. Monitor guest services interactions to provide a welcoming experience while maintaining security protocols. Conduct regular audits of cash drawers, vaults, and cashier stations to verify amounts and prevent discrepancies. Implement training programs for staff on casino & gaming industry standards, cash handling procedures, and customer service excellence. Collaborate with compliance teams to uphold banking regulatory requirements and internal controls related to cash operations. Utilize Microsoft Office tools for reporting, data entry, scheduling, and communication purposes. Respond promptly to operational issues or discrepancies by coordinating with security personnel or management as needed. Experience Proven experience in casino operations or related banking environments with a focus on cash handling and cashiering functions. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams within the casino & gaming industry or retail math environments. Familiarity with casino & gaming industry regulations as well as banking compliance standards such as GAAP. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel for data analysis and record keeping. Excellent numeracy skills including basic math proficiency for processing cash transactions and verification tasks. Prior experience in customer service roles emphasizing guest interaction and satisfaction. Knowledge of casino cash handling procedures, retail math principles, and processing large volumes of cash accurately.
