Fred's, a small Detroit style pizza company operating out of Harbert, MI is seeking a customer service focused individual to join our team as a Front of House Team Lead. We are looking for a personable, dynamic individual who enjoys connecting with customers, supporting and motivating a team, and helping create a smooth, welcoming experience for every guest. The Front of House Team Lead is a working shift leader who leads by example while supporting daily front-of-house operations. This position will work alongside the team while taking on additional responsibility of maintaining service standards, addressing customer concerns, and helping ensure the shift runs efficiently in a fast-paced, fast-casual environment.Responsibilities:
In this role your responsibilities would include and are not limited to: Greet customers promptly and provide a friendly, welcoming experience. Take accurate food and beverage orders in person, over the phone, and through the POS system. Handle cash and card transactions accurately and responsibly. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, dining area, service stations, and other FOH areas. Answer menu questions, explain offerings, and make recommendations when appropriate. Run food and beverages from the kitchen and bar to guests as needed. Assist the Gather bartender by taking drink orders, running drinks, and helping with bar-related service and dishes. Float between taking orders, bussing tables, running food, answering the phone, assisting the bar, and supporting the team wherever needed. Lead the front-of-house team during assigned shifts, helping to organize staff and prioritize tasks based on business needs. Serve as a point person for FOH staff during the shift, providing direction, answering questions, and helping resolve day-to-day issues. Help ensure team members are following service standards, company policies, and food-safety procedures. Monitor the pace and flow of service and communicate with the kitchen and FOH team to keep operations running smoothly. Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure assigned shift responsibilities are completed. Address customer concerns and service issues using sound judgment and appropriate service-recovery techniques, involving the owners when necessary. Help maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment by encouraging and supporting staff throughout the shift. Assist with training and onboarding new team members, helping them learn service standards, menu knowledge, POS procedures, and daily operations. Communicate staffing, customer, inventory, equipment, or operational concerns to the owners. Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication and service. Assist owners with special promotions, events, and other operational projects. Provide administrative support as needed.Qualifications:
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Previous customer service or food-service experience; previous lead or supervisory experience is a plus. Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset. Comfortable taking initiative and making decisions in a fast-paced environment. Ability to lead by example and support coworkers during busy shifts. Reliable, punctual, organized, and able to multitask effectively. Ability to stay calm and professional when handling customer concerns or challenging situations. Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellent customer service. Willingness to learn and take direction from the owners. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs. Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Must have availability across all 5 operating days (Tuesday-Saturday). Must be 18+ to handle and serve alcohol.Benefits:
