Now Hiring a Front of House Lead at Alto Pino Restaurant in Duluth, MN We are looking for an experienced Front of House Lead to oversee day to day operations at our small, 36 seat restaurant in downtown Duluth, MN. This is a working leadership role accountable for serving, bartending and leading a team of 3 other FOH staff. The role is full-time, working dinner service Wednesday through Sunday. Working closely with the owner, the FOH Lead will support the team, maintain service standards, assist with scheduling, inventory counts and ordering, and ensure the restaurant runs efficiently. Because Alto Pino is a small restaurant, this role is ideal for someone who likes variety, with strong leadership skills, excellent customer service, and a passion for hospitality. This is a highly collaborative and communicative environment… we all wear multiple hats, and support each other to make sure guests receive the best service possible. Pay is $15-$18 per hour plus tips, dependent on experience.

Essential Job Duties:
Leading:
Lead and support team during service, including ensuring recipes, checklists and schedules are followed Set and publish the schedule on a monthly basis Coordinate with sommelier to track bar/wine inventory and place orders Track and manage the bank, close out cash each week Compile tip-out each week Update and publish drink recipes Collaborate with other department leads and owner on special dinners, menu changes, etc. Resolve and/or communicate guest, staff, equipment issues with owner in a timely manner Onboard and train new servers
Serving and Bartending:
Greet and seat guests, noting any special requirements/occasions and communicating to your teammates as needed Offer interesting, and vivid descriptions of each menu item's origin, taste, and preparation methods Communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the kitchen Anticipate guest needs to ascertain satisfaction and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests Properly process payments Make drinks with high quality and efficiency Follow drink recipes consistently Follow opening and closing checklists for assigned station/area Keep a clean and tidy space
Requirements:
At least 2 years serving and bartending at a full service restaurant, and 1 year experience leading people Willingness to hold others accountable and provide timely feedback Able to use a computer and edit spreadsheets and word documents Positive/collaborative attitude with strong communication skills Ability to act proactively Strong work ethic and ability to work as a team Professional demeanor, polished appearance with the ability to exceed guest's expectations Ability to move efficiently, multi-task and work under pressure Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs; Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and climb steps regularly. Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
