Stocker / Cashier

At Notable, the cashier isn't just ringing people up — you're the face of the experience . We're a high-energy, Jamaican-inspired deli in Astoria known for bold flavors, fast service, and real community. We're looking for someone who can move with urgency, connect with people, and keep the flow of the shop tight during busy hours. If you're friendly, quick on your feet, and know how to handle pressure while keeping good vibes — you'll fit right in. Responsibilities Greet every customer with energy and make them feel welcome Take orders clearly and accurately (in-store and phone/online when needed) Operate POS system and handle cash/card payments efficiently Keep the front counter clean, stocked, and organized at all times Help guide customers through the menu (especially first-timers) Upsell naturally (combos, drinks, sides, specials) Communicate with the kitchen to keep orders flowing smoothly Manage high-volume rushes while staying calm and focused Restock drinks, chips, and front-of-house items as needed What We're Looking For Strong people skills — you enjoy talking to customers and building relationships Fast, efficient, and detail-oriented (this is a busy shop) Comfortable handling money and using a POS system Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in their work Team player with a positive attitude Bonus (Not Required) Previous deli, food service, or cashier experience Familiarity with fast-paced NYC food environments Bilingual (especially Spanish) The Vibe Fast-paced Team-oriented Community-driven No tables, but always people We're not just hiring a cashier — we're hiring someone who helps create the Notable experience.

Pay:

$16.50 - $17.50 per hour
