A Cashier handles monetary transactions with customers. Takes customer payment for a product or service, provides change as needed and receipts for transactions. Provides accurate accounting of cash register funds, and provides customer service.
This part time weekend position is at our Winston retail location. This position is responsible for quality customer service, re-arranging stock, and working as a team. The cashier will use point of sale cash registers, electronic scanners, and related equipment to conduct monetary transactions with customers. The selected candidate will typically work 4 to 8 hours per day, 20-24 hours per week. T he work schedule will be Friday, Saturday, and Sundays each week.
Duties/Responsibilities :
Accurately and efficiently rings up customer purchases using a POS system. Greets customers as they enter the location to make them feel welcome. Assists customers with questions or price discrepancies. Provide accurate product information to customers in person and over the phone. Processes account payments, purchases, returns, and exchanges according to store policy. Assists customers in locating various products, resolving complaints, and answering questions. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities :
Excellent customer service skills. Ability to operate available equipment, such as: computers, cash registers, calculators, and scanners. Basic mathematical skills, as needed, to make change and give refunds accurately. Become knowledgeable about company's products and services, and customer-related policies, to make proper recommendations of products and services sold during training period. Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with employees and customers in a friendly and approachable manner.
Education and Experience :
High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required. Familiarity with farm and ranch products and livestock is highly desired. Prior retail experience.
Physical Requirements :
Prolonged periods of standing and walking Bending, twisting, stooping, and kneeling required frequently to rearrange merchandise and verify stock levels. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently May need to work nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis. Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
