Overview We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Cashier to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service, handle transactions accurately, and contribute to a positive shopping experience. This role is essential in ensuring smooth store operations and maintaining customer satisfaction. Prior experience in retail sales, cashiering, or grocery store environments is preferred. Duties Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately Handle cash, credit, and debit payments with proper cash handling procedures Assist customers with product inquiries and provide product demos when applicable Upsell items and promote store promotions to increase sales Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves and organizing displays Conduct regular stock checks and assist with inventory management Ensure the checkout area is clean, organized, and welcoming Provide exceptional customer service by addressing questions and resolving issues promptly Support supervising staff during busy periods and assist in training new team members if needed Follow phone etiquette standards when assisting customers over the phone or via online communication Skills Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities Basic math skills for handling transactions and retail math calculations Experience in retail sales, merchandising, stocking, and grocery store operations Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a friendly demeanor Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team Bilingual capabilities are advantageous for serving a diverse clientele Knowledge of product demos and promotional activities to enhance sales performance Professional phone etiquette for engaging with customers remotely or over the phone Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
