The Canvasser

•Petition Circulator is a full-time or part-time, contract, on-site role based in Chicago, IL. In public locations you will talk to Chicago voters and collect signatures for the nominating petition. You will share details about Maronto's views on Strong Foundations, Strong Chicago and No Poli-Tricks. Daily tasks include approaching potential petition signers, explaining campaign goals clearly, answering questions, and ensuring signatures are collected accurately and in compliance with local regulations, and getting the petition notarized. We make it simple, but you also have to track your progress, reporting results to campaign leadership, and participating in short trainings and briefings. Canvassers are expected to show up in neat clothing without logos or wording, be respectful, represent the campaign's values, and work with other team members to meet goals. Qualifications You should be able to speak with the public in person. You should be able to communicate with diverse community members. You should be able to shake off rejection and keep a good attitude. You should be able to follow campaign guidelines and use google forms. Reliable availability for full-time or part-time, on-site work in Chicago, IL, including evenings and weekends as needed. Comfort working outdoors, walking for extended periods, and achieving goals. Prior campaign, community organizing, or outreach experience is a plus, but not required.

Company Description Maronto For Chicago is a local political campaign focused on Service to Chicagoans, Operational Accountability, Neighborhood Networks, and Economic Transparency aka CONE. This role is for petition circulators to help get Jesse Maronto on the ballot for the Chicago Mayor 2027 election. Did you know, the Mayor's race is on deadline for all candidates to make their signature goals and there are no candidates on the ballot yet? Maronto says, "There are 15 candidates in the Chicago Mayor 2027 Cohort. Each of their campaigns are working hard to meet citizens and get signatures. We encourage registered Chicago voters to sign for a Mayoral Candidate when they find a petition circulator. If they are loyal to a candidate, we urge them to contact their campaign to sign as soon as possible. The October deadline is fast approaching and we want to see each of the Mayoral Candidates reach their petition signature goals, not just ours."
