Role:
Join Mobilize Michigan as a Field Canvasser and help mobilize voters through door-to-door conversations and voter registration programs that build community power, strengthen civic engagement and advance progressive causes. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grassroots organizing and to make a difference in your community. This position requires no prior experience. We provide comprehensive training for all new team members!
Key Responsibilities:
As a Field Canvasser, you will be a vital part of our voter outreach programs. Your duties will encompass a wide range of grassroots activities, including:
Door-to-Door Canvassing :
Engaging in face-to-face conversations with community members to share information, listen to their concerns, and mobilize them to take action.
Voter Registration:
Help eligible residents register to vote and ensure registration information is completed accurately.
Public Engagement:
Initiate respectful, persuasive conversations with community members to share our message and mobilize voters.
Goal Tracking:
Consistently achieve daily and weekly goals and accurately log contacts.
Training & Compliance:
Attend trainings, follow safety protocols, and ensure data and form accuracy.
Team Collaboration:
Coordinate with Field Directors/Team Leads throughout the day and participate in end-of-day debriefs.
Qualifications:
Prior experience is a plus but none is required to apply. A strong passion for civic engagement and the mission of Mobilize Michigan to support progressive organizations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; enjoys talking with people from diverse backgrounds. A positive, coachable attitude and a strong desire to learn. Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Basic comfort with technology, such as using a smartphone or tablet. Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends. Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Pay:
$25.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 40.0 per week
