Job Overview Osborn, Tate & Colvin for Redmond City Council is hiring paid canvassers to conduct voter outreach across the city. This is a seasonal, part-time, independent contractor (1099) position running from October 1 through November 1, 2026 . Canvassers work closely with the campaign's field team, follow campaign-provided training, scripts, and systems, and coordinate their schedules with campaign leadership. Key Responsibilities Conduct voter outreach through door-knocking, phone calls, and text banking, following campaign scripts and messaging guidance. Accurately enter voter contact data in VAN (MiniVAN) as directed by the campaign. Attend scheduled check-ins and submit regular reports on voter contact totals and volunteer participation. Represent the slate of candidates professionally and stay on message in all voter and volunteer interactions. Complete campaign-provided training on outreach methods, data systems, and messaging before beginning field work.

Schedule:

This is primarily a Saturday and Sunday position, when voter contact volume is highest. Shift times are set in coordination with your Field Director; occasional weekday hours may be available but are not the core of this role.

Compensation:

$30.00 per hour, paid via invoice submission on the campaign's regular payment schedule. As a 1099 contractor, you are responsible for your own tax withholding and estimated tax payments.

Benefits and protections:

This position does not include workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, or health benefits. Contractors are responsible for their own insurance and liability coverage.

Equipment:

The campaign provides walk lists, turf/target lists, scripts, and VAN access. A personal phone and reliable transportation to your assigned area in Redmond are required. Training & Support Provided Paid training on VAN (MiniVAN) data entry and campaign field systems. Campaign literature, walk lists, and turf/target lists for your assigned neighborhoods. Scripts and messaging guidance for voter conversations regarding the slate's platform. Ongoing coordination and support from your Field Director. Preferred Qualifications Lived in Redmond or the immediate surrounding area for 3+ years. Comfortable using or learning VAN (MiniVAN) for voter contact and data entry. Comfortable making phone calls and text banking. Comfortable walking long distances for extended periods. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to represent the slate professionally and stay on message. Reliable transportation to reach your assigned area within Redmond. Availability on Saturdays and Sundays, the primary working days for this role. Previous canvassing, phone banking, or volunteer coordination experience is a plus but not required.
