This is a field-based sales position focused on helping homeowners identify and address roof damage caused by storms, wind, hail, and weather . What You'll Do Door-to-door canvassing in neighborhoods affected by storms Identify potential roof and storm damage Meet with homeowners and educate them about their options Schedule roof inspections and follow up with customers Develop and manage your own sales pipeline Build relationships that lead to referrals and repeat business Earn commissions based on your sales performance Why Northridge Roofing? Knock doors and introduce Northridge Roofing. Ask homeowners about recent leaks, missing shingles, hail, wind, or other concerns. Document interested homeowners and follow-up dates. Schedule roof inspections. Follow up with previous leads and estimates. 2. Initial Homeowner Contact Introduce yourself and Northridge Roofing. Explain that Northridge is a local Utah roofing company. Determine whether the homeowner has noticed potential roof or storm damage. Obtain permission before accessing the property or roof. Schedule a professional inspection when appropriate. Set clear expectations about the inspection and sales process. 3. Roof Inspection / Damage Documentation Inspect roof according to Northridge Roofing procedures. Document visible storm damage. Photograph relevant roof areas and exterior components. Document gutters, flashing, vents, siding, windows, and other potentially affected areas when appropriate. Record roof condition and approximate age when known. Upload photos and inspection information to the CRM. Clearly distinguish observed damage from areas requiring further evaluation. 4. Homeowner Consultation Review inspection findings with the homeowner. Explain recommended repairs or replacement in understandable terms. Discuss available roofing materials and options. Provide accurate pricing and scope of work. Answer homeowner questions. Never promise an insurance outcome or coverage determination. Never misrepresent damage, pricing, warranties, or Northridge's relationship with an insurer. 5.
Insurance / Storm
-Damage Opportunities Ask whether the homeowner intends to file an insurance claim. Explain Northridge's role in documenting the roofing work and providing estimates. Encourage the homeowner to communicate directly with their insurance carrier regarding coverage. Coordinate inspection information when appropriate and authorized. Keep all documentation accurate and factual. Follow Northridge Roofing's policies and applicable Utah requirements. 6. Estimate & Contract Prepare the estimate according to Northridge pricing and procedures. Review the scope of work with the homeowner. Explain materials, labor, warranties, exclusions, and payment terms. Confirm homeowner understands the agreement. Obtain all required signatures and documentation. Submit completed paperwork to the office. Verify the job is properly entered into the production system. 7. Handoff to Production Confirm homeowner contact information. Confirm property address. Confirm approved scope of work. Submit all required photos and measurements. Communicate special instructions or homeowner concerns. Confirm material selections. Identify potential access, landscaping, HOA, or property issues. Make sure production has everything needed before the job is scheduled. 8. Job Communication Keep the homeowner informed about scheduling. Communicate changes promptly. Help resolve questions between the homeowner and Northridge team. Monitor the job without interfering with production responsibilities. Address customer concerns quickly and professionally. Document significant communications in the CRM. 9. Completion Confirm the project has been completed. Verify homeowner is satisfied with the completed work. Address legitimate punch-list items with the appropriate Northridge team member. Confirm required completion documentation is submitted. Follow up on outstanding balances according to company policy. Request a review/referral when appropriate. 10. Referral & Relationship Building Ask satisfied customers for referrals. Follow up with past customers. Maintain relationships within your territory. Develop relationships with homeowners, real estate professionals, property managers, and other legitimate referral sources. Continue canvassing neighborhoods and building your pipeline.
