General Job Description:
Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Energy Code Compliance Specialist to prepare and manage Florida Energy Gauge (EnergyGauge USA) compliance documentation for new residential projects. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience running Manual J/S/D load calculations alongside EnergyGauge modeling, understands the Florida Building Code Energy Conservation requirements, and can work closely with HVAC designers and to ensure projects meet or exceed compliance thresholds. Key Responsibilities Prepare Florida Energy Gauge (EnergyGauge USA / EnergyGauge Summit) compliance reports for residential projects, ensuring accuracy of building envelope, HVAC, and duct system inputs Coordinate with HVAC designers to align Manual J, Manual S, and Manual D data with EnergyGauge modeling inputs Review architectural plans and specifications to extract relevant envelope, glazing, insulation, and mechanical system data for accurate energy modeling Ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and Energy Conservation edition, as adopted by the state Generate and submit required documentation for permitting and plan review Maintain organized job files with complete, audit-ready compliance documentation Stay current on Florida Building Code updates, energy code cycles, and EnergyGauge software updates
Specific Qualifications:
Required Qualifications 2+ years of experience using Florida Energy Gauge (EnergyGauge USA) for residential projects Working knowledge of Manual J, Manual S, and Manual D calculations Familiarity with the Florida Building Code and Form

requirements Strong understanding of building envelope components and their impact on energy modeling Proficiency reading residential construction plans and specifications Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple project files simultaneously Strong written and verbal communication skills for builder and code official interactions Preferred Qualifications HVAC design or mechanical contracting background Experience with load calculation software (Wrightsoft, Elite RHVAC, or similar) Familiarity with builder relationships and production homebuilding workflows This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship or work authorization support. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without current or future need for employer sponsorship.
